This isn't a ship thread, however if a mod deems it to too closely resemble one, by all means, add it to the sticky if you NEED to.
While personally, i think sakura is definitely still attracted to sasuke, and hinata is legit in love with naruto (she's the only naruto character who said "i love you" who I thought i believed. It was sincere).
And i personally think she deserves him. that's not what this thread is about though:
As we get closer to the end, it looks more and more like naruhina is gonna happen... however i feel like writing wise, its a mistake. I mean, i want naruto to end up with hinata, in a perfect world, but based on how things have been set up, it would not be good story telling.
We hardly KNOW hinata. Almost anything we've seen of here were monologues, flashbacks of her stalking naruto, and how much naruto and her inspire each other... but she's gotten no character development.
Sakura i legitimately like. I like her looks, i like her personality (i really do. Yes, she's a TERRIBLE fighter, and YES, she has had the same old "always looking at those 2 from behind" speech and hasn't grown at all, but i do like her personality). He and naruto have gotten TONS of time on screen together. They had that crush/annoyance dynamic. And soon she stopped ignoring him. In shippuden she actually was charmed by him. Like, if i think of naruto and sakura, that thought makes me happy.
It would be better writing for kishi to have just gone the traditional route, and had naruto and sakura slowly grow closer and closer and not deal with that sakura/sasuke bullshit. But thats not how things happened.
It also could have worked out if naruto and hinata got some more time together. like between the pain invasion and kage summit to address the "love you" thing. As it is, they have virtually no charisma together.
HERE'S THE CRUX OF THIS THREAD. Kishi has set himself up for failure. he has put it in a position where no possible ship's are valid. Naruto hinata sucks because they have no charisma, like naruto and sakura would. Yet naruto and sakura won't work because she loves sasuke, even though they are super close and it would be a cute ship.
And sasuke and sakura can't work because he NEVER felt anything towards here... karin is comic relief.
Its fine to leave romance out of a manga, but don't introduce it if you're gonna NOT expand on it. its just lazy.
Anyway, i guess this might kinda be a ship thread, or more of an ANTI ship thread. If you wanna leave it here, fine, else move it and pm me.
