Concidering how the powerscale has gone up steadily, while the byakugan has remained on the same spot,
it now seems rather weak in comparison. So why did they make such a hassle, dividing themselves into
branch- and mainfamily? If anyone should have used a system like that, it'd be the Uchihas... OP as hell.

Kakashi said that the sharingan MAY be from byakugan, but then again he also said that there is no sage of the 6 paths, and that the rinnegan was just a mutation.

It seems to me that during the time period between Madara's death and Itachi's rise, the Uchiha were a bunch of fodder. Most all of them couldn't even awaken their sharingan. In contrast, isn't byakugan active from birth? If that's the case, killing a young Uchiha wouldn't do much for the guy grabbing the Ucchiha's eyes, but, killing a Hyuga and nabbing the Hyuga's eyes, that'd be pretty handy.

True, but it never says that in the manga. You are just sort of getting this from the top of your head. It was said that the uchiha were the strongest clan in the village (pre itachi)

It's the other way around. Also the Uchihas might have a similar system without all the political crap. It's ALL elitism when you get down to it, the obsession with blood and descendancy ( so not a word ) from legendary individuals is ridiculous.

It's more than likely that both the Uchiha and the Hyuga are decendants of the first son because of their dojutsu. The Uchiha are direct blood line where the Hyuga branched off... In any case the Byakugan has become useless as taijutsu has been all but tossed aside in part II. With all the rediculous jutsu they can't do anything AKA Susanoo and tailed beast mode...need I to on?

They protect the Byakugan because it is very useful if you aren't going agsinst any of the OP characters so the Zetsu army gets crushed by Hyugas...I've still been hoping for something to let the Byakugan advance to the true title of great dojutsu, but I doubt it happens

Kishi trolled the hyuga and gave the rasen shuriken the same abilities as a hyuga it attacks the chakra circulatory system he couldn't even give them a true OP technique like that i personally think its some bs

I have said this before its crazy that at the start of the Manga it looked as if the Byakugan was on par with the Sharingan. But as the story has progressed the Byakugan has had little advancement but the Sharingan has shot through the roof. Not only that but then the Rinnegan was introduced and later we find out that the Sharingan can become the Rinnegan and you can keep you EMS like Madara does lol. But thats not that big of a shock Kishi hasnt really focused on the main 11 in such a long time.
