north korea is just showing off because they need aid. to get aid they need scare tactics. the us will probably succumb to their wishes to avoid a probable ww3.
but let's just say if war breaks out and north korea declares war here is what will happen:
seul will cease to exist immediately. because north korea is literally holding the trigger on it for decades. same goes for the bordering cities of the north.
every north korean will be drafted for war and they will immediately invade the south. the south forces will also be invading north with their superior fire power. but the north has the numbers with the manpower so no telling what happens next.
most of the civilians of the south will fled to the south of south korea. leaving its north part as battlefields.
the us will immediatly declare war and invade north but it will be hard to do it any other part of its border so they need to do it from seul. so again a suprise invasion is nearly impossible. japan will probably aid the south and the us but their islands will be open to attack so north koreans probably attack the japanese islands too so japanese aid probably will be very low.
nato will probably do nothing to help unless a nuclear attack takes place. russians probably do nothing as well.
that leaves china. china is a north korea ally on paper. but they are now a capitalist regime on many ways and conduct business with the americans. so if they become allies with the us on this north korea probably cease to exist because of advancing forces thru the chinese border.
if china continues to be north koreans allies(north korea has nothing to offer to them except for bein a communist country) well that would mean ww3.
and we will all die. the us cant sanction to use of nuclear weapons on tens of millions of people without them using first.
so if they use it they will die. but so will we.
if they dont use nuclear and got china s backing the probability of the us winning the war is still very low.
so it will probably go to a cease fire and another cold war era starts.
ahh and south korea will cease to exist. it is a big economic and military power but north koreans are just military. and they got weapons. old weapons. but still weapons.
this is just my theory tho. i might be wrong.
edit: sheer numbers wont mean shit in a war normally but to have all the men women child and elderly to join the army means they have the might to wreak havoc.
oh and i forgot to mention the north can only sustain war period for 3-4 months because they just dont have the aid to sustain it. by aid i mean food. they have much mouth too feed, nothing to feed them with. but they have the weapons to give to every living soul on north korea and that idea is scary.
also a mere coup can stop all this suffering in a normal country but alas all the northerners think they are in a better position then the us nationals also they think the americans are evil.
they are right. the americans are evil but not the way they are thinking. disney is evil. regular joes are not.
but the north koreans doesnt know that so, they will not stop until their commanders give up.
and that is the problem so far. they are hard to remove. and they had decades of brainwashing on their people.
decades of brainwashing cant be cured easily.
