But seriously, what the hell were they thinking when they animated this particular bit ? It genuinely looks so wrong from all perspective and it makes me wonder what goes through their thought process when they were drawing the cells for these particular bits of Sakura's ... behind.

In general she does have a nice ... posture to say in Part 2 ... but it still doesn't quite excuse why the animators did this to such a ludicrous degree.
