Because they suck and i'm glad. wasabi and namida were horrible and fillerish as fk in episode 49. sumire is way better than them.

I'm pretty sure they weren't even in the exams, which we are getting to. Sumire is the only one from that team to make it into the manga, which is well after the exams, and she's no longer a shinobi but a lab apprentice.
