i think ppl are missing the point in Kishimoto saying they were all equal to Naruto. Reading between the lines, Kishimoto could be saying they are all equal as a character to Naruto because they were there for him to help him progress as a character, and not necessarily because they shared the same amount of plot relevance or had the same amount of techniques as him.

The Naruto character was predicated on forging bonds with other ppl and assimilating some of their general beliefs and work ethic to accomplish his goal. Without that, there's no telling if Naruto would've became Hokage. That's what i personally think Kishimoto was driving at when he said that anyway.

Not trolling just stating facts. In the end of the day Sasuke and Sakura are secondary characters. Naruto's is the only one thats special. So that means the girl who ends up with him is also special. Since she is part of his life. Meaning Hinata is the true heroine.

Hinata was always meant to be a true Heroine since her fight with neji, just because Sakura happens to be team of 7 with more scene, Kishi keeps bashing her endlessly...

Kishimoto: I wasn’t very conscious of it. I thought I would leave the course of it up to them. I wrote it while wondering if Sasuke and Sakura would get together and how it would be. I didn’t write Sakura in the position of heroine. Naruto was special because he was the main character, but all other characters were equal, regardless of who were main or side characters. The characters would decide based how it would work in the story. But along the way, I thought that Naruto and Sakura were different. I somehow decided [their romances] at a pretty early phase.
