That's why I think either Sabo will consume eat or Mugi will destroy it. Why will he destroy it? It'll be great character development on his behalf. How? If he destroys it, it implies that he doesn't need a fruitlet alone Ace's fruit to remember him. He is in his heart and soul and doesn't need the actual thing to prove he cares for him. Alot of people argue that Mugi hasn't developed as much as he should being the protagonist so with him destroying the fruit, it will truly show his development as a main protagonist. But I don't know how he'll destroy it, Goda can definitely think of something .

So I was thinking if he destroys it...it would simply come back. If he wants to completely destroy it I think he would either toss a chest deep into the ocean or the fruit itself into the ocean. Instead, I see him holding on to the fruit like Shanks did with the Gomu-Gomu no Mi.

I can see an ending where he and his crew are hanging out on a small island like Luffy's and a kid eats Ace's DF in a similar way to what Luffy did. Possibly in the process of saving the kid, his straw hat gets burned, and Luffy says its ok (maybee adds that he can get a new one). Then goes out to some place where he runs into Law or someone, and when they ask what happened to the hat he says, "I bet it on the future!"

The hat's destruction symbolizing that it isn't the Straw Hat that was really being passed down, but instead Roger's will or way of life ^.^
