In both the manga and anime next week there will be no progress in the plot.
In the manga it will continue with Hashirama's long flashback. However at least that is important to the story and will still be a good chapter.
In the anime, right when they were about to get to the epic episode where Madara is reanimated, they are adding an idiotic, pointless filler where Kabuto reanimates the sound four. This is not even a good idea for an episode. If the sound four lost to part one members of K11, then obviously they would lose to part two members of K11 backed up by the alliance, so it's not even an exciting fight. The sound four aren't even good. They're stats in the databooks are lower than part two Sakura!

Stop thinking there is no plot continue. You have to replace the characters from Hashiramas story with the current character and it will all make more sense as the what the plot may be,

Manga: You're a fool if you think the current manga chapters aren't progressing the plot. We're learning about Madara, the main villain who's past actions have essentially started the 4th shinobi war. Learning all the reasons why Madara turned on Hashirama and Konoha, and why he is so eager to complete his plan definitely progresses the plot forward and has been a long time coming. You not seeing that as plot progression is simply due to your lack of understanding. This is how story telling works bud.

Anime: No argument here. Obviously the main plot isn't progressing when there's filler material.

I specifically said it was IMPORTANT TO THE STORY. That is different than progressing in the plot.

Do you know what the word "plot" means? Revealing things important to the story is progressing the plot. "important to the story" and "important to the plot" are the same thing.
PROGRESSING in the plot means that the story is continuing. What is happening now is giving character development, by explaining Madara and Hashirama's characters, and giving background to the current story by explaining events in the past.

Don't complain kid. It may not advance the plot, but it will act as a plot supporter. You know, giving us answers to questions and understanding why this war is the way it is. Children these days...

*sigh* *facepalm* Which in turn progresses the plot. Talking in circles buddy. Knowing the reasons WHY Madara did what he did is a little something called plot progression there is no seperate phenomenon called story progression, essentially they are one and the same. Things you call "story progression" are necessary for continuation of the plot as a whole.

I never used the phase story progression. I said that there is character development and background, but the story isn't continuing.

Sound four now have unlimited chakra, better curse.seqls, and immortal bodies, it's gonna be different than last time. And in case you forgot, the k11 needed help from the sand siblings to defeat them, not to mention they barely made it out alive.
