1. Hashirama lived long enough to see Tsunade develop CES. She had to be at least 10, so Orochimaru would've been born.
2. The main point of Kabuto was identity crisis, and how he strived to be, and surpass Orochimaru. In the end he failed. Orochimaru is still more durable, smarter, and physically equal as far as speed and reactions go.

You're right about Hashirama, and way wrong about Kabuto. The main point about Kabuto's character is arguable. But I didn't say "main point" I said "a point." That stands true.
Kabuto became the Sage Orochimaru wasn't able to become. He became superior with the Edo Tensei Jutsu. War Arc Kabuto is the product of all of Orochimaru's research and greatest experiments.
Kabuto respected Orochimaru far more than he did anyone else. When he said he finally surpassed Orochimaru, it was the truth.
Btw, Kabuto's speed and reflexes far outclass Orochimaru's.

But in the end it doesn't matter. Orochimaru is in a prime position to become, truly, unsurpassable.

The simplest explanation for this would probably be that, apparently, no matter what you do to him, Orochimaru Apparently, no matter what you do to him, Orochimaru simply refuses to permanently die. He has been alive since before Hashirama died, and throughout that time, encountered the most powerful Shinobi to ever live. He perfected the most powerful technique in existence, (if you can name a better technique than Edo Tensei, be my guest) and knows arguably more than anyone else in the NV.

I hereby challenge you to name a person who has surpassed Orochimaru in.

He may not have die, but yes he was deafeted a lot of times. Itachi solo him with the Tosuko but return from death. Sasuke solo him but again return, Tsukuyomi solo him hhahah but again was safe by the duo yaoi. A lot of people can defeat him, he may not die easy because he has forms to return but that doesnt mean win cant lose because he already have lose.

I hereby challenge you to name a person who has surpassed Orochimaru in.

Mmm all the perfect sennins has more stamina than him. Minato, Jiraiaya, Naruto, Hashirama, Kabuto, Raikage 3 and 4, Kisame and a lot more. Orochimaru has 3.5-4 stamina in the databook.

Strength

Mmm i have not seen a feat of strength of Orochimaru but also has 3.5 in the databook so again, all the perfect sennin mode have more strength than him because you need a strong body for the SM and he couldnt hang the natural energy.

Durability

Well it is not that he has great durability, he has good jutsu to stand uo to powerful attacks. But Itachi cut his hand with a kunai. He has great durability but not the best. I think perfect jinchuriki has more, perfect SM has more and the raikages 3 and 4 have more.

Versatility

I think that Jiraiya has more versatility. And yes, he is versatil, like Minato, Tobirama, Jiraiya, Hashirama. Those are the most varsatility ninjas.

And if you were wondering, I do believe that Orochimaru would beat DSM Kabuto in a 1V1.

Kaguya is not at all intelligent, nor is Minato when it comes to comprehension. The only one comparable to Orochimaru in Knowledge is Tobirama, Madara, Sasuke, Kabuto, and The Naras.

Minato isn't very intelligent as much as he has battle smarts. I would put him at Hebi Sasuke analytically. Furthermore none of them you listed surpasses Orochimaru in all aspects.
