Itachi didn't do it for the greater good..he did it because he was a scared little boy and he didn't want to see blood and war, but thanks to his so called greater good Obito was able to get Sasuke on his side and start a new war meaning Itachi killed the Uchihas for nothing seeing as how there is a war right now and Sasuke wanting to destroy Konoha.

How can Itachi foresaw the return of Madara and Obito cheating death, Itachi was primarily focused during that time on the situation at hand aka the planned Uchiha coup de' etat, he merely stopped what was the perceived threat at that time which is social anarchy and the outbreak of war that would have resulted in his clan's actions.

Have you ever lost someone extremely close to you? Not your grandpa or grandma who were old as hell, but a dear young healthy family member who you couldn't even think of losing to death? How about all of them getting slaughtered by your own sibling upon orders from old ass politicians? Just think for a second...if that were to happen to you tonight....

How about the person you love the most, who's mere thoughts keep you going in tough times, how about watching that person getting stabbed through the heart by someone who had sworn to you to protect that person in exchange for your own life?


you know what....you can't put yourself in their shoes....cuz you have a perfect life, hell you've never even lost someone to an accident or disease like cancer.....you don't even know the pain of something like that....let alone having them murdered by someone....

Because you're too damn privileged in your perfect little lives, you pass judgement on people while never having experienced what they have experienced......

With the uchiha still in the picture, naruto would be dead, because a civil war in the leaf would wipe out most of clans that exist today and the remaining village would have been wiped out by any one of the great nations or even orochimaru by himself and the war would be over already.
