I don't think so, because they turn in their comics two weeks before they're published, so he's already had his break, and probably also turned in the comic for issue #17 by now too (last Friday or Monday would've been the due date) and this week is working on the one for #18.
If the break is game-related he probably got an advance copy a few weeks ago since the publisher might be nice enough to give him one.
