this will only disappoint those who are easily excited and listen to hyperbole and hype as if it's truth. I keep my expectations for games at ground level and am rarely disappointed as a result.

What's wrong with people. Games are meant to entertain, there is no need to rush things. Neither buy them for 1300 dollar, wtf. Some people really have too much time and too much money.

But yeah, the game is overhyped. I like the idea and all, but such automatic-generated planets probably won't look that interesting and the KI of the animals won't be good either. Personally, I wouldn't even buy the game for 60 Euro, 20 at best when it's on sale or so.
