As the title of this thread says, I would like to question the opinion that the Uchiha stone tablet is the only source of knowledge on Rikudo Sennin, and his works. I also want to raise the attention of uchiha freaks that there are people out there in the Narutoverse who actually possess the true intels, non-BZ-tainted intels on Hagoromo and the Ninshu or original purpose of Ninja. As I said in my Stone Tablet and Uchiha thread, re-watching Naruto vs Pain conversation gives some interesting facts. Among these, the following pages are very instructive.

1. Initially, after meeting the Nagato-Yaiko-Konan trio, Jiraya wasn't really interested in teaching them Ninjutsus.

As you can see, Nagato said that Jiraya wasn't interested in teaching Ninjutsus at first. However, after noticing that Nagato had the Rinnegan, Jiraya decided to teach them Ninjutus - with the hidden goal of helping Nagato to control his Rinnegan. This suggest that Jiraya knew the true meaning of Rinnegan - though he actually made a mistake by thinking it was Nagato's own eyes.

Here, I also want off topic to point the wisdom in Jiraya's action compare to some foolish characters such as madara or Orochimaru who can start teaching and twisting everything into children without giving them a purpose for their teaching.

2. Jiraya's tale of Rikudo and the past war is closer to Hagoromo's account of his own tale

Now, guess where Jiraya got his intel, and why it is speaking of Ninshu rather than ninjutsu. Then, wonder why Jiraya was never quick in teaching Naruto some freaking Ninjutsus and spent his time making him understand his will to find peace. Basically, Jiraya had the same will has Rikudo himself. Better, check the following:

Jiraya knew exactly what kind of Rinnegan Hagorom, or Rikudo Sennin had.

As you can see, Jiraya told Nagato that he had the same Rinnegan Rikudo had. Not only this suggests that there are different kind of Rinnegan, but it really show that Jiraya knew exactly what he was talking about. Making it clear, we can say that this are not speculative statement. Rather, they are assertions.

3. Conclusion

So, as you can see, people other than the uchiha knew the story of Rikudo. Some source of intels out there contains accurate information on Rikudo Sennin and his job. Better, some people out there are still on the quest of making Rikudo's dream come true. I can safely suggest that the toads have full intels on Hagoromo, and they are the one who gave the part of intel that Jiraya knew. If Nagato was not really the child of the prophecy, there is the true child of prophecy - uzumaki naruto.

Question: Why are the two children of prophecy Uzumaki?

bb. Bonus: Even Hanzou of the Salamander knew the Rinnegan

The tale of the Sage of Six Paths was just a story. No one thought it was real until seeing Nagato's Rinnegan. Also, Ninshu was taught to all. It was later weaponized and called Ninjutsu.

it was never meant to be nagato anyway. but indeed he did good in the end, making sure the 'third part of the book' will do well
