"being able to do this almost flawless and my sensei being surprised" My first comment on this is: you are just starting out, just learning the basics of chakra manipulation, and while it's not impossible (nothing's impossible <.<), it's rather, quite, very bloody unlikely. Second comment: I walked away, so how am I surprised? O-o
Several hours later, Mystogan walked back towards his student. Grabbing the leaf off of the kid's forehead, Mystogan stood with his back to his student as he spoke next.
I hope you've learned the basics of chakra molding and focusing. If you haven't, then use the pressure to pull greatness from within. Let us go.
Still not looking towards his student, Mystogan turned on his heels and began to walk into the forest, not looking to see if the boy was keeping up. Walking deeper into the forest, Mystogan stood between two rather large trees. Finally turning around to look at his student, Mystogan began to explain the third step to chakra control.
Alright, so next up we have the third step of chakra control; the Tree-Climbing Exercise. It focuses on flowing your chakra beyond your body, and touches on control. So, first I'll need you to catch,
Tossing a kunai gently through the air, thrown so that the handle would be facing the boy as it flew through the air slowly, Mystogan waited for the boy to take hold of it before continuing.
After that, you need to mold chakra and focus it into your feet. Then, you'll simply climb the tree. Without your hands. As you place the soles of your feet on the side of the tree's bark, your chakra will hold you in place. Theoretically. Not enough chakra, and you'll slip off. Too much chakra, and it'll simply repel you away from the tree. You need to find a good balance between "too much" and "too little" in order to climb the tree. This means constantly streaming chakra to your feet, though the longer you practice, you can do it without even thinking about it. So, as you begin to climb the tree, make sure you have that kunai at the ready. When you begin to fall, as all beginners do, reach out and cut the tree so you know how high you got. Then, try to beat your last height. Continue until you're at the top, like this.
Walking up to the tree furthest from his student, Mystogan began to walk up the side of it, all the way to the very top, without appearing to exert any effort whatsoever; as if he were just breathing. Looking back down on his student, Mystogan yelled,
You might want to hurry; it's hard to see after dark!
