*Souji enters to see Ellie eating an apple under a tree. Some Newton shit right there. Was she a genius too? Only one way to find out. He flopped onto the ground in front of Ellie, laying down casually while looking up at the sky. To his side there was a bag full of equipment for the session*

*sounding almost sarcastic* Great! Prepare your body. It certainly ain't ready. HAHA!

So tell me about yourself. Goals, why you want to learn ninjutsu, etc. etc. etc...

Ellie laughs at how eccentric her new sensei appeared before her.
Hmm, let's see goals..
Ellie scratches her head and ponders on this thought as to why she wanted to become skillful in the craft that is ninjutsu..
Well for goals I surely want to become stronger all for the simple reason of not wanting to be killed. I'm not really a girl that's into setting specific goals, I don't like to seize the moment, more so to let the moment seize itself and see where my life and training takes me, maybe I'll be a Kage someday or an assassin hmm we'll see. xD
and I mainly want to learn ninjutsu considering I need this in order to have a summoning, I'm really interested in crows and it'd be pretty badass to own 'em, haha pardon my southern accent. I also want to learn ninjutsu because it's a priority to have to be able to counter basic genjutsu.

*Souji listens to Ellie's response while twirling a kunai* ... ok, ok. Good to see you have goals. The journey to those goals is just as important as the goal itself. Hippie advice, I know, but it's pretty real, I'd say!

Countering basic genjutsu can be done without ninjutsu training. Ninjutsu training, however, focuses primarily on weapon-based, summoning, and non-elemental techniques. It's a hugeeeeeee category that encompasses a bunch of things.

*looks at application form again* you have some elemental training already, yeah? That means you've probably gone over shape and nature manipulation with your senpais and senseis. Explain those concepts to me, and what makes ninjutsu different from elementals?

OH! And no long-winded explanations, please. Unless you want to, then I can't stop you... *shrug*. Just tell me how YOU understand it, ok?

I'll try and keep as brief and simple as possible.
Shape manipulation is when we manipulate our chakra to take a certain form such as creating a sword from Suiton chakra or creating a tornado from the wind. Nature manipulation is when we mold and manipulate our chakra to give it the characteristics of either the basic elements or even custom elements. Ninjutsu is different from the elements because unlike the elements we don't base ninjutsu off the characteristics of the elements itself, with ninjutsu we can take control of many things we manipulate our chakra with whether it be our surroundings or with weapons. Ninjutsu is usually more about chakra control and chakra manipulation, hmm hopefully I explained myself on the matter well enough to you

(I'm sorry for the late reply. Thank you for your patience, and I promise to reply as much and as quickly as I can from now on.)

*unravels the large bag of equipment, revealing a lot of assorted weapons, scrolls, etc.*

These are MOST of the essential tools every ninja should bring with them for at least have knowledge of. Let's begin practicing with our techniques. I will explain them to you, go over what you need to do, and you simply have to try them out. Sometimes I'll ask questions if I see you not paying attention, but hopefully we won't have to worry about that, yeah? *winks*

Ok. I want you to find the needles; senbons, as they're known. Hold them in your mouth... be careful! They're sharp and swallowing them is not a pleasant experience *shudders slightly at the thought*. Try molding your chakra and channeling them through the senbons. When you feel like they're about to burst, spit them out like a projectile, allowing them to hit whatever their target is.

For this exercise, I'll set up a couple of balloons. Try popping them with the needles!
