Genjutsu?
Anyhow, let's begin.
You do know how genjutsu works, do you not? Before we start working, let's start with the several ways it can be defeated. I don't want you trapped in a genjutsu long before the training ends.
So mind naming me the different ways one could escape from genjutsu? And also, which KGs genjutsu is ineffective upon?

Kai is a simple way to escape genjutsu up to the rank of B. Though most KG genjutsu's are A rank and above. Genjutsu works by tricking the opponents mind into believing something else is happening instead of what is happening in reality. Some genjutsu's can be escaped by shock or pain such as cutting ones self with a Kunai, and some simply by not looking at the user upon their casting of the genjutsu. Some chakra barriers may also block out genjutsu, although some are used to conceal the opponent in the genjutsu.
Oh, if one has the sharingan or rinnegan doujutsu they can actually reverse a genjutsu of I believe B or A rank back upon it's caster. Also Byakugan can see through some genjutsus, as they can see through chakra.
The last way is to use a Shadow Clone to disrupt your Chakra flow and thus, releasing you from your jutsu. Lol.

*As I struggle to get free I see that it isn't working so I slide a kunai out of my ninja tool pouch and make a small yet painful cut on my thigh. Thus shocking me out of the genjutsu as I stand there free will a little blood coming from my leg.*
That is, of course, one easy way to escape from the genjutsu. But what if your hands were completely immobile? And you couldn't move at all? Then, you would need to rely upon a Shadow Clone to release you from your jutsu. That is why, in my suggestion, you should always create Shadow Clones in either the first or second move of a battle.
Anyhow, let us move on to the first jutsu.
By releasing your chakra upon our surroundings (as you can currently see that we are in somewhat of a small forest), I want you to change at least a single aspect of this environment into something else. So for example...try changing that tree into like...hmm...BARNEY. LOL.

Hmmm... May something a bit more practical sensei XD? *I slowly release my chakra into the ground that is around us. It then explodes as the moist fertile top soil turns into what seems to be hot and dry sand, and the trees around us begin to quickly whither and become nothing but bark and a few brownish leafs on the stems. The sky also becomes slightly tan and there are no visible clouds in the sky.* Is that good enough, sensei? Also... I haven't learned Kage Bunshin no Jutsu... So yeah... If you could teach me that some time I'd be very helpful lol.

*I start to focus my chakra back into the environment around me and the flickering slowly stops as my chakra spreads from my body. I think get a clear image of what I want and the flickering stops as I look back at you.* Is that good?

To escape, I want you to focus your chakra over your body and then manipulate it to become imaginary petals. While distracting me with that, attempt to escape the jutsu I have placed upon you.
The advantage is the ability to set up a perfect ambush in an area where are little places to hide if used before the target enters the area. The disadvantage is that the enemy can easily use kai, a KG, hurt them selves slightly, or use a Shadow clone if they know that the genjutsu has been casted. Which may leave you open for attack if you still think the enemy is under the influence of the genjutsu.
*Begins struggling to get free of the lightning. I do as you say and try to cover my body with chakra. I then let it break into fragments to try and escape the lightning but nothing happens.* Ugh, explain again will ya'?
