What could've the ninja alliance done if they had all known of Akatsuki's plans to capture the Jinchuuriki beforehand?

What would've the army done if they had known Tobi & Kabuto's plans from the start? Could they have countered the Zetsu army and the edos? Or just gone looking straight for Kabuto and Tobi?

The 5 villages are more than enough to beat Akatsuki.

but they would've never known where they were or when they planned to strike. Also, if Pain can single-handedly destroy a slightly handicapped Konoha then the entire Akatsuki could lay waste to any village with Deidara's explosions, Itachi's mind control and Sasori's 1000 puppets. They would have to try hide the Tailed beasts.
