I'm wondering what the skyscrapers over the hokage monuments meant for the NV? It just feels like modern things like cityscapes, and Naruto using a laptop don't really fit well in this type of story. It kinda felt like the end of Asura's Wrath for some reason. Idk it was an ok ending for Naruto I guess. He became hokage that's all I really cared about.

Maybe its like the pinnacle of the Shinobi world. Meaning that there is most likely no cities like that outside of Konoha.

That's a good theory, maybe the mini series will expand on it.

I think its a cool twist, I mean in the episode somber news naruto goes to a convenience store and buys a popsicle, which has always made me wonder what naruto would be like in a more modern setting.

I approve.

I believe it's suppose to be city of Kyoto. One interview of Kishimoto said something about making the village like that.

they had TV's so why not laptops?

and besides the village hidden in the cloud had modern buildings...

the narutovesre is not in the far past... it's hard to compare it to reality because its different but I would say that its close to being in the (90s and early 2000)...

its a cool touch that kishi added to the village Dancing in the leaves).

Those were tube TV's not flat screens, but that one is possible.
The cloud village didnt have modern buildings and they weren't skyscrapers.

Here in Murica, we had skyscrapers way before the modern age. New York in the 1800s for instant is one. There is also the fact that we are not capable of doing the things those in NV could do. Most likely the remaining Shinobis contributed to urbanization.
