I'll do it here. As I said, I didn't know why people dont like them, seeing memes and youtube videos about it. I, personally, really like some of their music/songs and see nothing wrong with them.

I like a few of their songs. I don't get the hate either, but oh well.

People hate on them for the same reason people hate on Nicholas Cage.

 

[Jazzy Stardust]

Their songs are kind of cliche in opinion all the way down to the drum fills. It's like copy and paste Foo Fighters but done really badly.

The lyrics also consist of a lot of "douche bag" phrases as well. Ex:

"you're so much cooler when you leave it in your mouth/'cuz you look so much cuter with something in your mouth". The song this is from is called "Something in Your Mouth".

They're just terrible in my opinion.
