Next gen plotline (predictions)

I think it's just going to be a repeat of naruto and it will be borutos journey to figure out how to be a ninja. As a subplot I think the ootsutsuki threat will still be a thing and Sasuke will be in and out of the village as often as Jiraiya was to do "research" and here and there boruto will come along with Sasuke similar to Jiraiya and Naruto, along the way Sasuke trains him and then the teased subplot of borutos rivalry w sarada could become bigger if Sarada is trained by naruto's shadow clones.

As far as a main threat goes aside from ootsutsuki clan taking over the world again I can't make a prediction on that. Maybe Madara once again LEL.

Boruto did figure out how to be a ninja thanks to the Movie, which is why he had this Movie in the first place because he didn't understand the point of it.

I mean there were more factors, but he more or less wasn't interested.

- Boruto and Sarada's rivalry never really existed though. They are literally best friends who argue through words, not really compared to any relationship like Naruto and Sasuke's.

- Then the series would be called Boruto & Sasuke, with Sasuke wank instead of an actual next generation series.

But I'm game for more Sasuke & Boruto.

I like your prediction. I also think it'd be cool for someone to start growing artificial chakra fruit to boost their abilities. Prefferably a villian should grow them.

Or maybe chakra fruits start sprouting around the ninja world for some unknown reason.

I think the producers would be aware of the risk of producing a copy of Naruto and would be careful to ensure the plot is different

I would prefer a story that will answer all the big questions left from the previous episodes.
Something around Orochimaru so that we can discover some of his results that would explain why this crazy scientist doesn't seem to care about something as strong as the god tree, a thing that can give "immortality", exactly what Orochimaru is looking for...
Something that will bring answers to what happened in the past, how the clans were born...
