Kishi wasted 6-7 pages about Madara speaking about the connection, and he wasted another from Obito's memories with 2-3 pages... So this chapter was pretty much some flashbacks or either conversations.

The fact that the next ch. is 666 is appropriate considering Madara is essentially the 2nd coming of the Antichrist and Naruto is essentially the most important of Jesus figures of the manga (after the Sage, of course).
