Sony publishes 39 second video showing obscured shots of the PlayStation 4 hardware; full unveil at E3 2013.

Sony has teased shots of the PlayStation 4 hardware hours before Microsoft is due to announce its next-generation Xbox.

The 39-second video shows a blurred black box, which is presumably the PlayStation 4 hardware, along with numerous quick, close-up shots of various parts of the hardware. "See it First at E3," says the video.

To everyone saying the new Xbox will be better
No it won't.
PS3 was already ahead on the 360.
Do you seriously think the new Xbox will surpass the PS4 ? Did you even see the specs ?

Specs New Xbox:
If the Xbox 720 is to be as popular and last as long as the Xbox 360 – without the frankly appalling hardware failures which blighted its early days – it's going to need some reliable and powerful components.
From what we can tell, the Xbox 720 will come packing very similar specifications to the already-announced PS4. However, it is rumoured strongly that the Xbox 720 will come with reduced graphics potency.
The Xbox 720's CPU will be an AMD Jaguar-based CPU clocked at 1.6GHz - possibly very similar to that of the PS4, possibly identical in every way. That would certainly be a boost for game developers as it would make cross-platform development much easier than it is currently.
Graphics-wise, rumours suggest that the console will contain a revision of AMD's 7000 series graphics, which is based on its 28nm Graphics Core Next (GCN) Southern Islands tech.
The PS4 graphics are provided by a bespoke AMD chip from this family somewhere along the lines of a Radeon 7850 card with 18 GCN processing clusters, each with 64 cores.
It is thought that the Xbox 720 will have just 12 processing clusters which could well mean that Microsoft is using a version of the (rumoured/forthcoming) AMD Radeon 7790 chip. That means less power and cheaper bits, basically, but it's not all doom and gloom.
The PS4 comes packing 8GB of unified GDDR5 memory which combines system and graphics memory for super-fast gaming. But the Xbox 720 is rumoured to contain 8GB of general system memory and separate graphics memory.
That means that the Xbox 720 might not be as potent a gaming rig as the PS4, but will be more efficient at other tasks, making the Xbox better and faster outside of gaming environments.
That certainly tallies with some gaming devs who say the Xbox 720 is a lot less about gaming than the PS4 is.

PS4

AMD, as we guessed all along, is coursing through this new system's veins.
Post-event, Sony revealed the system runs on a single-chip custom processor and utilizes eight x86-64 AMD Jaguar CPU cores, with a next-gen AMD Radeon based graphics engine powering the way.
So it's very much a PC-based system then, which is great news for developers who will find it much easier to code games for the next gen consoles and for PCs. However, that CPU is hardly next-gen - it may have been modified for this system but the AMD Jaguar platform is by no means the fastest of its kind - indeed it's slower than Intel's fastest by orders of magnitude.
However, with fewer redundancies than a PC has, the PS4 will certainly be able to make use of every single Watt of power it draws.
The "highly enhanced PC GPU" is another story. It's another AMD part - something along the lines of a Radeon 7850 card - and packs 18 GCN units. That may sound a like a lot of techy mumbo jumbo but what it essentially means is that the GPU packs 18 processing clusters, each packing up to 64 cores. That provides a lot of parallel processing power, and will thus handle the majority of the PS4's grunt work. It hits 1.84 TFLOPS of processing mojo. This is a far more powerful component than the Jaguar CPU and is rumoured to have the edge on the GPU inside the Xbox 720.
Sony announced at the NYC event that the console will even use GPU compute features to take advantage of the GPU's raw power - it'll be used for general computation tasks as well as making games shiny.
Memory
The PS4 will ship packing 8GB of GDDR5 memory. That's some super-fast stuff right there and should enable lightning fast performance.
Indeed, Sony has revealed that you will be able to power down the PS4 mid-game and then switch it on again in seconds and pick up right where you left off. That's the sort of loading power that this memory enables.
Other specs
We're also looking at Blu-ray disk support plus good ol' DVD, plus HDMI output support as well as Analog-AV out and an optical digital output.

who really gives a crap about all of that stuff all i care about is the exclusives to a console the ps4 could have all the specs in the world but if its exclusives suck then the console sucks
so depending on the exclusives should be the main focus on which one you should get
and ive never bought a console based on that crap just the games

I've played both the predecessors and own both still and I have to say, reliability wise the PS3 wins. I've gone through 3 Xbox's and only 2 PS3's. The only reasons I needed a second PS3 was because my brother broke my AV cable and the new one we bought was ironically incompatible with my PS3.

From my perspective it looks like the PS4 outspecs the Xbox to an extent. The only reason I may ever get the new Xbox is because of the Halo series (Since they will inevitably continue onto the new consoles), but I'll be getting the PS4 first.

as long as a console can play games its fine in my opinion but if it has great exclusives which is the most important aspect to any console then it will make the console amazing

their are many gamers out there who consider the snes as one of the greatest consoles ever and why is that hmm its because of the game library
in the end of the day what would you want?
a console with all the sepcs in the world yet its exclusives suck or a console that has the best exclusives

so if we compare ps4 and xbox 720 or what ever its called people will most likely pick the one that has the best exclusive or the exclusive games that they love
like for me i will pick nintendos consoles over xbox and playstation as they have zelda

so i believe 100% the exclusives to a console are the most important aspect to any console as they are the main focus
if you hold so much importance to the specs of a console and not its exclusive then your just a fool for technology

PS4 all the way, why would I want a console for which I have to pay to play online?
and no the perks you get from paying on Xbox are on the same pay level as on the ps3 ...

That's only good if you have a narrow fields of game types, for example zelda on nintendo or halo on Xbox.
I really don't see the meaning in buying a console only to play 1 game >_>
