So I read the rules and watched the video, how do I know whether me specifically as the player is the town or mafia? If I am the town what do I say?

Also if I got killed by the mafia how will I know I'm dead will I get notified?

The game's host will send you a PM with your alignament and when a player is lynched or killed by mafia or serial killer he is notified and he receives the link to the Dead Villager's Chat (DVC).

it'll be stated whether you''re town or not in your role pm which will be sent to you before the game starts

as for what to do I think its better if you read some old games to understand that

Guys, don't be afraid if this is your first game and you are not very aware of it.
You will get help and get the fundamentals of the game explained, I am more than sure you will get into Mafia after playing the newbie game.
