[Photoshop] New to Photoshop looking for tips advice and thoughts!

He everyone ^^ As you see in the title I am new to photoshop! I recently started to use Photoshop and only really know how to do basic things! I started using photoshop to make my video thumbnails not look like ass and I hope that I have succeeded.

Here are some examples of my work (These are youtube banners I made for my friends and I) I would really appreciate any form of advice or constructive critisism that anyone's willing to give!

I only really know how to use that 1 effect for text and I don;t really know how to have that glossy kind of 3d text effects that people can use but hopefully I'll be able to improve! Some of them look decent, the last one you made.. is kinda meh, and that is in particular cause all the renders you took have different quality, luffy for example is HQ. while zoomed in vegeta makes him look his HQ. Madara is also of different quality, so make sure when you go and look for renders, that they are of the same quality.

One tip as well: When you do make banners for people, make sure that they are not 99% identical. like try different fonts, use different colors. can change a lot

and IMO don't put down so big that you made the banner.. but that's just my opinion.

I like the banner you made for you own channel with the manga parts. looks really good, but can't say much about it since I can only see a portion of it, idk how it is made outside the save zone of YT banners.

About text effects; just dubble click on the text layer, and play a bit with the drop shadow and the outer/inner glow . You can always duplicate the text layer and play around with Soft light or Overlay and the opacity.

For your own banner, I would have added some borders to some panels to make it look like one huge manga page.

The one for Mljgaming is in my opinion the best of the four, however Shisui and Minato are making it look bad. Even banners have certain focal points, by placing Shisui and Minato in the right corner you ruined the "flow". In case you don't know what flow is, it refers to how everything in the image give a direction to your eyes. Just like how an arrow pointing towards right, will make you look to the right.

The other 2 banners look bad, don't use renders whose quality are vastly different. You want to make it look like everything in the image belongs there. Also the white outline which worked fine for the banner of Mljgaming are looking horrible for the other 2. The banner for Demon god zadic loos like the result of somebody using MS paint.

There isn't a lot of tips which I can give besides looking at tutorials and keep practicing.

Thank you very much for your critiquing! Is there a way to find out what renders the images I'll usually find the images from youtube to usae and it doesn't usually show... I'm watching tutorials on how to make 3d text and nice looking text effects but I'm a long way from that... You are right I did make them too identical so I'll need to try and change things up and make the focus different!

Hmm I see what you mean about the focus thank you for that I'll bear that in mind next time I make one! I'll definitely look up more tutorials.
