[Question] new to OP

Hi there OP-fans,

well just have some question/statement.
I just recently started watching OP and found that it is quit a goofy show, but still
there is this weird thing about it that really keeps me attracted to keep watching it.

Just wanted to ask, is this goofyness gonna stay the whole series?
Big up though, loving the series but in quit a different way I liked all the other anime/manga
I watched.

don't worry there is always some comedy in one piece but at times it can be very serious overall you will like and for anime suggestions i would highly recommend durarara,monster naoki urasawa, and samurai champloo,cowboy bebop

Specifically what do you think is goofy about the show? Is it the humour the art style, characters? It may start of a little goofy but the story later on gets really deep and with the addition of more and more characters becomes really good. From my experience I found it difficult to stop reading after I started haha but thats just me.

It's always funny in my opinion, but that makes the serious moments that much more effective.

Yeap,the goofiness stay but the plot becomes much more complex as the series progress.Stick to it,at the beginning is a little boring imo,but it gets way better and more interesting after a while.

I started watching it not too long ago as well and find it more funny than anything else but the serious moments are always so well executed and I find the balance between the two well achieved.

I´m guessing it stays that way for the rest of the series

well its not that I mind the 'goofyness', not at all, but I'm just more used to anime's
being on the far more serious side, and sometimes funny. In OP its al the way around though it seems.

Anyway I'm gonna keep watching, like I said, there is just this one thing that keeps me attracted to it.

Yeah like everyone here has said it still has its goofy moments but you'll come to love it. Especially after in most arcs the serious level goes to max without any comedy so when the crew is just being the funny crew its just amazing.

it is always goofy , still goofy now , however it also contains a lot of badass characters and plot twists etc. basically it is goofy and serious at the same time and more so as you go further into the series

one of the best moments in OP for me were when it was completely serious and than became sad (the episodes around aces death), I admit I cried at some points but the best part was that Oda put in some humour so that I had tears in my eyes and couldnt help but laugh at some points (and not completelly goofy humor that ruins the serious moment but a kind of smile that makes you even sadder in a way even if you do smile, some of the flashback moments with ace and sabo for example)
