Just watch the anime before the manga, that's what I did. Also the art isn't that great at the start.

Watch the anime except filler while start reading the shippuden

The best advice u could ever hope for :|
watch the animation not only would u enjoy it put it will speed u up & u get to see the actions
Then read the manga from where u stop
And if i were u i would avoid NB until u are up to date to avoid knowing somethings U_U
