I thought of something similar regarding their eyes that connects with your theory.

The Sharingan supposedly comes from the Byakugan according to Kakashi, but Orochimaru and Kabuto theorized it came from the Rinnegan.

Through that, I came up with a hypothesis that the Byakugan is the Yang (White) of the Rinnegan and the Sharingan is the Yin (Black) of it.

lol yes, same! Nice to find someone who agrees with mine, too.

I also find it interesting that the Hyuga are considered to be in control of their emotions and to make sure their clan behaves and secrets protected, they use a curse seal, but the Uchiha are overpowered by their emotions and let their clan roam free, secrets unprotected.

Even as clans they are opposites of each other.

For those asking for an explaination it was in the description at the top.

Basically the Sage of Six Paths had the Rinnegan. He had his sons AFTER becomming the Juubi Jinjuriki. When the Elder Son was born, the hatred and evil of the Juubi's eyes were secretly brewing within the Elder Son, and so for now his eyes stayed as the White Spiral dojutsu.

Upon the Sage's death, the combination of a loss of his father and not being chosen to succeed (this giving the Elder Son a feeling that he was a failure to him) caused the Juubi's brewing evil to infect the eyes. This becomes the Red Spiral Dojutsu.

The Elder Son then had two sons. The Elder Son's oldest son was born with the Byakugan (representing the initial purity the Elder Son once had), and the youngest son was born with the Sharingan (representing the Elder Son's hatred).

It's possible... but wouldn't it make more sense if the predecessor of the Sharingan is the Byakugan? because the Byakugan was said to be the ancestor of the Sharingan? maybe Rikudou's wife was the progenitor of the eye?

It's kind of hard to say if that makes more sense, or not. The role of the Sage of Six Paths has been somewhat ambiguous... whether he simply established the standard teachings for Ninja due to his ability to manipulate all natures, or he was the 'first ninja' is a little unclear. I would say it's just as possible that the Senju/Uzumaki ancestry and the Hyuuga ancestry predated the Sage of Six Paths - the Sharingan was then a byproduct of the Juubi's being sealed within the sage.

Thus the Uchiha feel they are the direct descendants of the sage - but the Byakugan gave rise to the first manifestation of the Rinnegan.

... Although, if the following is any kind of clue:

The Sharingan follows Shinto themes:

The Rinnegan follows Budhist themes:

The Byakugan follows Taoist themes:

Taoism and Budhism developed around roughly the same period (with Budhism likely developing earlier); Shinto practices didn't originate until far later.

That said - the very notion of "eight trigrams" embodies the elements. It may be that Byakugan users have a Rinnegan-like ability to utilize all of the main elements... without any kind of 'power up' (just better development by the author).

I do hope, however, that Kishimoto explains the origins of the Hyuuga and how they trace their lineage. Even if it's not back to the Sage - some kind of relatively sensible origin for their eyes would be appreciated.
