I see it as a good thing, what if they're against an opponent who is extremely dangerous in close quarters combat, now they have a users who can cure them from poison, attack long ranged, use multiple puppets including the sasori puppet, his 3, etc. he may even have the 3rd Kazekage puppet for all we know. Strategy shows this is an improvement he's a jounin level opponent who is very capable and was a team leader of the 4th Shinobi World War in the Surprise Division.
