In terms of synergy and skill new team 7 is way better but In terms of past story of character old team 7 is better.

As far as teamwork goes.. the new team 7 > old team 7. Sakura was useless in part 1. Naruto was too impatient and bent on beating Sasuke to the punch in everything. Sasuke was too arrogant and disinterested in his teammates to bother pairing with them unless they were in a dire situation.
As far as moves go. New team 7 beats them out again. They already have a team move. Team 7 never ( in my memory) had a team specific move that utilized all 3 team members. Plus, all 3 of them have had time to train with family and learn far more taijutsu and ninjutsu skills due to their era of peace. In Naruto's gen, you either had no parents or they were on missions.. so that gen lacked in a few areas.
As far as potential.. I am going to say = if not, the new team 7 just barely raises the bar just due to their DNA.
Naruto: Half Uzumaki. Asura. Kurama.// Boruto: Half Hyuga. Seal. Jougan.
Sasuke: Full Uchiha. Indra. Sharingan.// Sarada: Half Uchiha. Superb Chakra Control. Sharingan.
(Don't laugh at me here lmao. I have no reason to parallel these two) Sakura: Superb Chakra Control/Byakugou, Medical Ninjutsu, High Intelligence //Mitsuki: Sage mode, High Intelligence, Stretch ability (hey it's handy).
Actually with it all laid out like that, I think the new gen has more potential. If you set aside the whole Asura and Indra thing in the old team 7, then yeah. The new team 7 is just more well rounded and impressive. There's no weak member and all of them have potential to be feared.. providing enough people live by the end of Boruto lmao. Looks a bit dystopian.
