Norton? What the?
Norton is crap, you pay for something that finds problems that didn't exist in the first place. Stop suggesting things that are bad for computers, you fools. If you are suggesting Norton, I suggest not ever coming back to this section to help IT wise again. Only going to be a detriment to people.

Norton, it's amazing, haven't had a virus yet -hair flip-
Beat me to it. Norton is good.

-double hair flip-
You guys never get viruses because maybe you never go to potentially malicious websites or download random crap or even take risks to do so, period. Now that doesn't prove that Norton is good or great, protection-wise. You all have to consider how big a program's virus definitions are and its features. I would recommend getting Avast! Free if you don't plan on spending anything for your convenience, or you could get the Internet Security or Pro with that other way. Kaspersky is also really good, but it may slow down your system a tad little bit in the sake of your protection against malicious dangers out there.

Like the guy above me says, you guys should never reappear in this part of the forums ever again.

Articles don't mean anything. They could've been paid by Norton to take them up top, or that he could just be a real supporter, or the guy(s) may even be working for Norton; who knows? Validation tests will prove whether or not a security product is a very viable source of protection.

the best anti virus is a unistalled one. i learned years ago... u only catch virus wen u have anti virus software.. i have had absolutely no antivirus software on my pc fer 3.5yrs not one virus since i got rid of the AV software. git rid of all of it. and mind the Golden rule > if u dont know wat it is...Dont Download it.

use scanners. not active cpu hogging AV software. they will hog ur speed, and sneak in viruses so they can "fight them". AntiVirus companies are paid by V-makers to let in certain viruses. They do it so u feel safe wen they say they're fighting them.

scanners are the way to go. they only run wen u execute the scan. scan any files u download. and do monthly scans of the whole pc. they will find anything a site may have snuck in.

and keep a copy of hiren's bootcd around for the 1 in 10000000000 chance u get a real virus.
that cd can protect and save u from any problem...

use common sense and dont surf suspicious sites.

Why would anyone ever suggest Norton? It's a virus scanner that acts like a virus. It also uses scare tactics to get you to buy it.

Get Malwarebytes and Avast.
