[Gimp] New Rule? Cropped Avatars? Joker?

When we are making avatars most of the time we just simply take pictures from internet and crop them. Indeed, some people make a lot of effort to add different changes to the original picture but most of the time it is not like that. And even when it is like that I still think that we need to post the original picture or at least to post the name of the author of the original picture.

I know that some forums have this rule in GFX section which, basically, says that you need to post the original picture you used for your GFX work. It doesn't matter is that a cropped avatar or a tag really. But, I think this rule should be applied for cropped avatars, especially, because in some cases you don't change anything really.

And I think it's really important to give credit to the authors of these amazing artworks we use for creating again something new. So along with these new changes on NB I would like that Admins and Mods take in consideration this new rule for GFX section too. I hope that other members will agree about this with me.

So tell me what you think about this? Should we have this rule or not?

And don't Get me started on my profile it is by far the laggiest profile on the forum cause this place just can't take so much damn godliness in one place. I needed 3 minutes to make them and that's what people here are doing everyday and they can't even give the link to the original picture and give the credit to the artist.

I just think it's a lot of work. I have to upload like 20 images now (instead of 10), which I each have to manually find and click which takes like 10 seconds. I don't mind giving credit to the artist. I'm just really lazy.

What if someone would take your work, cropped it and put it on another forum without giving link to the work you created? How would you feel about that?

Oh, come on... If you are lazy to give goddamn link to the picture you use for spending hours and hours to make a tag then how do you make that tag in the first place?

But if you were to provide a link to the render, shouldn't you also provide a link to the C4D used, the brush used (if not made by you), and textures used? After all, they were also made by a person, and it might even have taken more work than rendering something.

Thats because its not like old times, all people do is get stocks and crop them, which is why I don't even bother posting here anymore. I'm a gfx'er myself.

When I make Sigs I always provide my renders, sometimes the C4D's lol.
