Naruto in yang KM:

The sort of tubes around the swirlpattern, are the upper half part of a circle.


Minato in yin KM:

The sort of tubes around the swirlpattern, are the lower half part of a circle.



As you can see, they both have different patterns, yet are both in KM mode.
They have halves of the complete pattern and when you combine both, you will get a complete cloak form.
I can imagine that the fact that Naruto and Kurama are still missing Kurama's yin halve, translates in a possible incomplete BM for Naruto as well.

Naruto + the gift of the other bijous + the image of the sage (possibly something similar as Minato and Kushina did in terms of a jutsu to appear before Naruto)+ getting Kurama's yin halve=Awesome sauce incomming.

Well, I read a theory that the Sage was in a Juubi cloak form, and that's why he looked black in many of the panels, but we've also seen his back being white; supposedly when he's out of Juubi cloak form. After seeing the Juubi seeing the Sage behind Naruto, I'm guessing Naruto's cloak will be half bright, half dark. Yin-Yang

Nice insight. But if you go back, you have to realize that the swirling circle is where the seal was made. When Minato sealed the other half using the that suicide technique, it was sealed in his chest,and he sealed the other half in naruto belly,,which more or less explains the position of the patterns.

Good point.
I wondered if chest is yin and stomache is yang in the yin yang philosophy, but I looked it up and that is not it.
Maybe if Minato sealed one half in his belly that the other half would go in Naruto's chest.
That when you split a bijou up in yin and yang that one half goes in the chest and the other in the belly.
That the parts of the body, where the seal will be placed, are sorta determined already.
Maybe for some bijou, the spots on the body are different.

Well jiraiya said that minato split kurama chakra into 2, yin & yang so maybe that's why the seal looks opposite from each other
