So I was just on IGN and I stumbled across an article about a possible new MK movie. Theres an eight minute clip of some live action mortal combat something on youtube. The IGN article says they don't know if its a movie trailer, movie pitch, game trailer or whatever, but whatever it is it looks AWESOME.

Judging by how it looks, and by who it has in it I'm guessing its a movie trailer/pitch. In which case I'm excited.

Heres the youtube link:

Be warned, though not too graphic it is for a potentially R-rated version of the movie, so there is violent material.

Awesome. :D

Though if its like the youtube vid I posted I might not be thrilled with Scorpion being sort of a main character. Sub Zero is my favorite character and if Scorpion is the main guy, theres a good chance Sub Zero is gonna end up dead. :(

more confirmation...I'm excited about this, although hopefully they won't have actually killed Johnny Cage because I was also a Johnny Cage fan and was so pissed when they killed him in the second Mortal Kombat

I like Micheal Jai White as Jacks and the guy the got to play Scorpion has been in a lot of action movies and can play a badass like Scorpion extremely well. My question about the movie though is, are all the fighters going to be more realistic, are they basing the movie off of the original game or are they going to incorporate features from the other games and the first movie, like the ability to go to alternate dimensions? I kinda hope the keep it as realistic as possible

From the way it looks so far it seems they're going to keep it much more down to earth this time. It look a lot more gritty and realistic so I think its going to be the way you're hoping for. :p

they better because the second movie was just well, too much like the later video games for my likes, especially since they replaced Christopher Lambert with a Sting look a like..

now I think its time to start speculating on whose going to be who

It is confirmed that this is a video made by a director trying to shop a new Mortal Kombat movie, hopefully it gets picked up and the keep some of the actors like the guy who played Scorpion, Micheal Jai White, and the character designs for Reptile and Braraka because they were badass

hopefully this lives up to my expectations, Certainly can't do worse then most game to movie like the second one... or resident evil. I say bring back lambert, or else get that creepy sombitch that was in watchmen and played the new freddie.

MK was truly fairly good and advanced for a mid-budget movie in the 90s. It was awesome. The second movie however WAS a complete waste of time and money. There's been talk of a new movie for years. Never known anything to get actually started.
