I'm looking into buying a new laptop in the next couple of months. I live in Australia if that matters for some reason.

Looking for something as a secondary use thing, will mostly be used for browsing internet and watching videos. Around 15 inch screen would be ideal. I'm looking to probably spend about 400-600 AUD. Casual use for mostly at home, and when going on vacation or car trip somewhere.

If anyone has any suggestions, please give me ideas and what you think would suit the description roughly. No apple, only windows.

stay away from alienware its overpriced, although I can't think of a good laptop make sure you get some sort of cooling pad, really helps with the overheating you will need it.

EDIT: i just assumed you were after a gaming PC uuuuggghh I wouldn't know but I like HP laptops, if you can find one for windows

Samsung r540 or r580. They are models of few years ago though.

I would suggest you ultrabooks but they can be overpriced for what are you looking for.

If all you want to do is browse and watch videos, then this would be sufficient:

At the top of your budget, you can have a touch screen laptop.

I think this thread should be posted in the Konoha IT Centre. People in that section will help you more than the people in General Discussion section :)

I would recommend the following laptops.

Lenovo G505s, ASUS N550JV-DB72T, MSI GE60 20E-003U, or Acer V3-572G. Those are the best laptops you could find with the cut you have.
