That's kind of how his style of rap works. Kendrick is a metaphorical rapper, if you listened to TDE you'd see they have an abstract style of creating music where they give a backbone to their general meaning, so to speak. It's basically to make the listener think a bit and go ¨Ohhhh¨ once you do catch their meaning. It's a means of getting the listener more engaged. They give you part of the meaning, and you fill in the rest. It's also a way to establish relatability for the listener.

Yes I am quite aware of this actually, and although this is a great intention I feel like sometimes he just comes up a bit short and he leaves too much for the listener as in his lyrics don't do enough to really relay any meaning I think the first verse of this song was primarily that as for the second, the third did a commendable job. Lyrically I just don't think this is one of his greatest works. Shame though it had to come on a song about blacks. I mean yeah we get the main meaning but once there it kind of just sounds like he's going on about really nothing in particular.

It's not a vicious tone, it's aggressive yes, but aggressive in the sense that his emotions are being projected strongly, not that he's gonna be violent and hurt you.

Ehh I wasn't quite feeling the emotion in this one again his lyrics just didn't match the intensity he was trying to hit so it just sounded unneeded plus I noticed through that part his rhymes were a little sluggish.

Don't be that guy Zexion. What's wrong with Asap Rocky? It's not like I'm hailing him as the best rapper to ever live. Would you rather I had a Big L song in my sig? Lol

I was just jossshiinngggg ya my man, however rockey was never really that good, had catchy hooks and way toooooooo excessive beats. Never was that fond of Big L, however I understand why he's so good. Nah get some classic Deep, or Def in there. Or if you want to go a little newer get some Swizz.
