Hmm. I disagree. Itachi's overuse of the MS isn't or shouldn't be the cause of his illness. Sasuke used his MS much more excessively than Itachi since Sasuke went blind over the course of a month or so and Itachi went blind after years.

i think Itachi was able to fight the darkness because he did not lose the one he loved the most. He did endure the pain of losing his entire clan, losing his best friend and abandoning his brother but he still had something to love.

Itachi doesn't really have any vendettas towards his actions or the village though. He did what he thought was best for his clan and the village. The only way to stop a civil war was to stop the Uchiha. Sasuke also lived so I doubt he has any regrets.

Given the fact that he died with a smile on his face on two separate occasions, I don't think he really has deep hatred he's trying to battle.

i doubt he did either but had to have had a great enough love for shishui to be able to unlock the ms then that had to turn into some form of hatred based off of the info the second hokage gave

I don't think his illness had anything to do with the special chakra at all, and there isn't any evidence pointing that way.

But your theory is blatantly wrong. Itachi or any other uchiha isn't having a battle of darkness with their brain, that battle lies with their hearts. The only thing the brain does is trigger the special chakra that turns their eyes into the sharingan once they've experienced the loss of a loved one or despair.

But it changes everything and you're missing the point. A uchiha doesn't have to have hatred or darkness to get the sharingan. Now the sharingan does feed of the EMOTIONS of darkness/hatred (even though it doesn't have to be those emotions) but it isn't necessary to trigger the evolution of the sharingan. Only the loss of a loved one or despair can do that.

This statement is not true. When a uchiha loses love (loved one dying) or experiences despair, special chakra sprouts in the brain. The sprouts affect the optic nerve (attached to eyes) which activate the sharingan in the eyes. Darkness or hatred is not involved in sharingan activation.

what im getting at is that the fact that itachi has the mangekyou so he has had to endure alot of that special chakra fighting against his brain(he is fighting the darkness)

Once again there is no chakra fighting in the brain. Nor is it a result of darkness or hatred. It's caused by losing a loved one or despair. In Itachi's case it was the loss of Shisui that triggered his MS activation.

Hell I'm bored too that's why I'm dissecting this post xd but none of what you stated would have caused Itachi to get sick. Any darkness/hatred he had in him would have just made him stronger since the sharingan is a reflection of feeling. The stronger a uchiha's feelings are, the more powerful they become. The strong feelings don't have to be hatred/darkness but in most cases they are. Of course some of the few exceptions to the hatred/darkness feeling are Itachi and Shisui.
