Thinking about it some more, I don't think he forgot about what Kurama and Hagoromo said. I think he was just insulting the reader's intelligence. Like he did by saying Naruto and Ashura were alike, which was utter bullshit.

Oh yeah. Sakura in the Kage Summit arc says she sucks as a ninja and that all she does is cries. If she was successfully working on a S-Rank jutsu this entire time, why would she say that?
