New Hereos: The Unwilling Sacrifice

Sasuke Uchiha has returned to Konohagakure for unknown reasons. Upon his arrival, the hokage, Lady Tsunade has given him a duty that he is unwilling to do... Be a sensei. He is against the whole decision becuase he does not want to teach a squad full of pathetic brats, not to mention he already has to cope with everyone being his enemy for leaving the village. But in the midst of war it is the only option he has. Sasuke is now a sensei and has to train a group of kids that could possibly change the outcome of this war and protect him with his life even though he is the same person that wanted Konoha Destoryed. How will this unwilling sacrifice make a big difference no one thought would happen.

This is my first Sasuke Fic, so I hope you like it. I will try my best to make this an epic saga

?Uchiha Sasuke? so your back in Konoha. I hope you don?t expect to be welcomed with open arms? Tsunade stared at the tall young man with his black hair and dark eyes. His outfit hadn?t changed much, except he didn?t have the oversized rope around his waist from Orochimaru.

The Uchiha smirked and pushed his hair back, ?No? not at all.? He wasn?t exactly happy that he was back, but felt better having control over his actions. Now he didn?t have to have Akatsuki on his back or that Karin girl either.

?Hmm. I do wander why you have returned, was it guilt or did you get tired of being an enemy of the Leaf?? The blonde hair Hokage stared at the boy. ?You don?t have to answer that question. I only hope you that you do not have any tricks up your sleeve Uchiha.?

?Hmph? why I came back is none of your concern quite franticly. And before you get ahead of yourself, no, I do not have anything planned.? His posture showed a guy who was annoyed as he turned around to head for the door, ?So, am I excused now???

Tsunade stood up and bit her lip. ?No, not exactly. So come back over here? She would regret what she was going to tell him, but it had to be said and be done. ?I don?t know how much you know about our village?s status, but we are an enemy to multiple countries at the moment for some reason.?

Sasuke turned around and decided he should listen carefully, give her some respect while he was at it. ?Yeah, I already knew that.?

?Well that?s good because we need you to help end this conflict, hopefully we can stop it before a war occurs.? She paused. ?It has been discussed by me and the elders. We believe it is best to assign you to a squad of Gennin.? It?s not like she wanted a traitor to be the role model for batch of fresh ninja, but his talent was needed to prepare for the future.

He chuckled at the statement. ?Me, a sensei of a bunch of pathetic brats. You have to be joking. I could do it if I wanted to, but they will probably annoy me. And that wouldn?t turn out to good.? While he was talking, flash backs of his Gennin days rolled through his mind. The fan girl Sakura, and the hyper active Naruto. How much has have they advanced anyway?

Sasuke wandered what his squad would be like.

Then he stopped.

Did he even want to think about it?

?Quite the contrary. This is no joke Sasuke Uchiha. You have ability to make a squad that could possible be the future, unless your attitude against your peers hasn?t changed either.? Tsunade?s hazel eyes shut closed as she sighed. ?This is not an option. The squads will be at the academy around noon tomorrow. I suggest you get ready.?

Reluctantly, Sasuke held back any comments and arguments. If he didn?t do this, it probably lead to some conflict. He wasn?t in the mood for any of that. ?Whatever??

?Dismissed? Tsunade?s words formed with a serious tone as she stared the Uchiha in the eye with a face of seriousness of course.

With that, Sasuke made walked to the doorway without looking back. He had just came back to the village with nothing. He already had his hands full trying not to go into rage every time someone ridiculed him about his leaving, or him being Orochimaru Pawn. He wasn?t a pawn anymore, Orochimaru was dead?.

He slowly walked down the spiraling staircase ignoring any comments he heard about himself in the Hokage Tower by people who didn?t even know him. Should he regret the fact that he left everyone who cared about him for power, or should he try to gain everyone?s trust back. That was one thing he most definitely was unsure of.

After a few minuets, he breathed in the fresh air of Konohagakure once again. It had appeared to be different from when he left. It must have been the way they rebuilt Konoha after Pain?s attack a few years back.

Sasuke currently had no agenda, no where to go. Hopefully his room in that apartment was still vacant. His blue bag jiggled up and down as he broke into a sprint to get around a bit quicker. Soon he stopped dead in his tracks and looked up at the building above him. There it was, his home? empty. Swiftly, he jumped on multiple roofs and climbed into the window.

He coughed at the tint of dust floating in the air. With force, he threw his book bag on the ground with anger. The Uchiha flopped on his old bed. His feet dangled off the edge, he didn?t realize how much he dad grown. ?Darn it, tomorrow is going to be a long day.? With those word said, his slowly drifted to a sleep.

The next day?.

The sun seeped through the blinds causing the Uchiha to wake. Restless, he rubbed his eyes multiple times in a feeble attempt to wake up. Eventually, his eyes opened wide as he sat up on the side of his bed. He walked over to the fridge to get a snack. Too bad everything was rotten to a point where the smell had made his eyes burn.

?Hn? what time is it anyway?? Hopefully it was still early, it would give him time to get ready.

It?s not like he cared if he was on time or late a matter fact.

Sasuke looked at the clock? ?Eleven Thirty, just perfect? He moaned at the comment and hunched over to his bathroom. Quickly, he washed of his face and rinsed off with a few minuets to spare. He opened the blinds to shed some light and grabbed the key that must have been on the dresser for years. He gripped it tightly and turned the doorknob to the right of him. The cool air tugged his hair back as he took a few steps onto the balcony. People nearby pointed at the man, for no one had came in or out that door for years. But Sasuke ignored it and hoped on to the ground.

?Well, well? I guess I have a squad waiting for me as I speak. Time to get this show on the rode I suppose.? He spoke with remorse as he ran through the village streets, looking dead ahead.

Did he even remember how to get to the academy?

Iruka surveyed the group of young ninja. As of now they could barely be called ninja, but either way, they still were Gennin of Konohagakure. They were Gennin on a road of many events that could be great or turn into a hardships along the way. As he looked around, he saw a bunch of kids beaming with excitement and enthusiasm. He had faith they were ready, but they still had a lot more to learn.

?Everyone here has advanced to the rank of Gennin. Well congratulations! You may be shinobi of the Leaf, but are the lowest of all shinobi at this point.? He smiled, ?And you are no longer my students, everyone has earned the right to call themselves students of a Sensei.?

The class in front of him wooted and cheered. The outburst caused a bit of commotion, but that was the same way Iruka acted at that age and decided they shouldn?t be scolded.

?Time to announce the squads?? Iruka held a clipboard in his left hand and a piece of chalk in the other.

?Squad 4... Hajji Akamichi, Ezio Hyuuga, and Haruko Hizune. Your squad captain is?. TenTen!?

The brown haired Kunochi walked in and smiled. ?I?m here for Squad 4?

?Squad 5... Hiroshi Raidon, Haru Aubrame, and Nami Otowa. Your squad captain is?. Kiba Inuzuka!?

A tall shinobi with fangs and a large dog ran in the door, ?I?m Kiba and this Akamaru. We are here to pick up Squad 5.?

?Hey Shogo! Guess who is on my squad. Nami!? The black blue hair boy chuckled, ?See ya later? He smirked and walked out with his squad.

Really frustrated, Shogo smacked his face leaving it a dark red, then put his fist in the air. ?Guess what Hiroshi? It?s not over yet!? Shogo kind of have had a thing for Nami, but his brother, Hiroshi, had the looks and charm. Shogo wanted to get wanted to get Nami first. But his brother could sabatoge it.

?Calm down kid!? Iruka scowled. He eyed Shogo until the young boy shut up. ?Anyway, time for Squad 6. It?s members are Akira Yamanaka, Taku Hasyuba, and Rin Haito. Your squad leader is?. Sakura Haruno.?

A pink haired Kunoichi came on slowly and waved. ?I?m Sakura, where is squad 6??

The Gennin ran up. ?Hey Sakura? Sensei? I am Taku, and I just wanted to say that if your forehead wasn?t so massive, you would be pretty hot?? The female squad member, Rin, ran up and gave him a quick slap across the face, ?Learn how to treat a lady.? She wiped her hands and smiled.

Sakura clenched her fist and calmed down. ?So, you must be Rin. I think we will get along well.? She smiled as they began to walk out.

Iruka chuckled under his breath, ?Okay, the next squad is Squad 7. It is made up of Yohiko Sato, Shogo Raidon, and Akio Nara. Your Sensei is?? After those three words he paused, and gulped. ?Your Sensei is Sasuke Uchiha?

With his name said, Sasuke came in slowly and he didn?t look to happy. Then he was stopped by a certain someone. Sakura, she looked at him and forgot all about her squad.

?Sas- Sasuke? I can?t be. When did you-?? Her squad looked at her and began to tug on her arm, but she wouldn?t budge.

Sasuke looked at her with a face of no emotion. ?Well, long time no see? Sakura-Chan? For old time sakes, he said hello. He didn?t feel like waiting around for the Kunoichi to get out of her trance, so he continued to walk over to his squad. All Sakura could do was stare, he face began to turn red. She forgot to breathe? Her squad had no other option, but to push her out the door.

The Uchiha looked back once then examined the squad. In his mind they weren?t the cream of the crop, but there was some potential there. ?I guess I should introduce myself. I am Sasuke Uchiha, but you should know that already.? He rolled his eyes and tried to be ?nice? to the Gennin. The atmosphere seemed to stop, as there was silence between the group. ?Hello? I don?t feel like standing around all day, introduce yourselves.? Sasuke backed up, and already was fed up.

?Man, do you have some problems Mr. Sasuke. I hate people with your attitude.? Pretty short, but tall the Gennin looked at Sasuke seeing his face and clothing. ?By the way, I am Yohiko.? He smirked.

?I don?t care what you think about my attitude. But I do care when snot nosed kids act like they know me.? He nodded in shame, ?Excuse me, I shouldn?t argue with little kids. So, who is next??

Shogo walked up with his hands in his pockets and looked at the ground, ?My name is Shogo, of the Raidon Clan. We specialize in Raiton Ninjutsu.?

Sasuke looked at the boy and thought for a minute, ?That?s interesting? next.?

?Hello Sasuke-Sensei, I am Akio Nara.? She waved and smiled brightly at her sensei how had a frown upon his face.

?Right, hopefully your not as lazy as that Shikamaru guy.? Sasuke shrugged. He still remembered most of his old comrades. Akio reached up and tapped his shoulder.

?Shikamaru-san was a great shinobi and still is. Even though he is lazy, he is a genius!? She spoke, assured that what she said was right. ?Okay, so we introduced ourselves, what now??

He scratched his head and let out a puff, ?I don?t know, nor do I care. Any suggestions?? Even though Tsunade told him to prepare, he did nothing in advanced. He could try Kakashi?s methods, but that wouldn?t be original. Time was ticking as he tapped his foot on the old academy floors. This day would be longer than he had originally thought. Meanwhile, Shogo looked at Sasuke strangely and thought hard.

?Oh wait, I remember you. Well actually, my mom told me about you. You?re the guy who abandoned all your friends and your friends for power. And that power you got was from that pervert Orochimaru, with the freaky snakes.? He wiped his face with both hands slowly, ?I hope my Sensei isn?t a creep.? He wiped his nose and sighed, ?I feel sorry for you man.? Shogo laughed a little and pointed his finger at Sasuke.

Now annoyed, Sasuke put his hands out and gripped the boy?s waist. Shogo had no time to get away, so now he was stuck. ?Listen here kid, I am not in the mood to here your little jokes, so cut the stupid crap.? At the same time, he shook the Gennin back and forth aggressively trying to teach him a lesson.

?Sasuke! Get off of the boy, he was only joking.? Iruka stepped in and broke Shogo and Sasuke apart. ?Cut him some slack, not everyone know how easily you can get annoyed.? He put his hand out keeping Sasuke out of the way as Shogo staggered on the floor trying to get back control.

?Hn? whatever. Lets go guys.? Sasuke took one last look at Iruka and began to walk toward the door. The young Gennin looked at each other with concern and slowly followed behind. ?Right Sensei!? The three spoke in unison trying to look at the bright side of things. The group walked out of the academy and would begin their journey as full fledged shinobi.

This chapter dosnet have too much Sasuke, but you will see some of the gennin personalities. It's a bit slow, the the beginnings always are.

Chapter 2: Enter Squad 7!

The group stared at each other wide eyed. Fresh Steam surrounded them as the nearby fryer crackled. They had just became a squad, so Sasuke though they should do something ?Productive? It gave everyone a chance to get used to each other. Sasuke didn?t put too much effort into it though, but it gave him some time to understand how things would be like in the future, and how the squad acted.

?So, do you guys like your ramen?? Sasuke spoke calmly and looked down the row of steaming bowls. Yohiko had Pork, Shogo had Miso, and Akio had Vegetable Ramen.

Akio poked her head out and leaned over the counter. ?Well Sensei, eating healthy always tastes good.? She took a slurp of the broth, ?But most people would probably disagree?? Her ramen was a mixture of broth, noodles, celery, tomato, potato, corn, and carrots.

?Yeah I sure would?? Yohiko always thought that Akio was a goody two shoes. ?For me its about the flavor, and Pork is great, so yeah I like it.? He ate pretty fast so his bowl was almost done.

Shogo blew into his bowl trying to cool it down. ?My ramen is too hot, so I haven?t tried it yet, but I heard Miso Ramen is delicious.? Sasuke glared at him and covered his face.

?Shogo over here is a scared cat. You should have seen him the first day of the academy. The first time a shuriken was thrown at him? he cried.? Yohiko grinned evilly, ?Don?t mind him though, there is nothing we can do about it.?

Sasuke looked at Shogo, his face turned red as he began to play with his ramen sheepishly. ?Yeah, I know the feeling? but that was years ago.? He began to think back to when he and his squad were in the Forest of Death, and the giant snake was attacking them.

?Right?? He sounded very embarrassed. ?Can we go now? I wanna train really badly.? His emotions turned around and he grinned widely. Maybe it was to cover it up, he didn?t know.

?Yeah, I guess I know what we could do.? Sasuke thought about what he could do. Maybe a race, not a normal race though. ?Hn? wait here.? Sasuke walked from under the roof and into the streets. Then he formed a single hand seal and went away.

15 minuets later?.

?Okay, I did some thinking and will put you guys on a timed quest.? He pulled out a shuriken from his pouch and waved it in the air. ?I have hidden 3 blue shuriken around Konoha, all you have to do is go on a solo search and find one. Once you find one, you have to find me?. And give me the shuirken.?

?So, all we have to do is find one?? Akio asked still confused.

Sasuke nodded, ?Yes, that?s what I said. By the way you have two hours, so find one by seventeen hundred hours. And whoever finishes first gets solo training and free dinner, second place gets nothing, and third place gets extra work.?

The group of Gennin nodded and got into a sprint position.

?Ready?. Set?. Go!? The Uchiha let the Gennin go into the village. Sasuke sighed and began walking the opposite direction. ?Finally? I get some peace.?

Even though they kids were out of his way, he had to hide some where. Maybe the forest was a good place. It was quiet, peaceful and large. ?Yeah, I?ll go the forest.? Sasuke began bolting to the area filled with trees, the area where he would wait for the squad to find him.

Meanwhile??

?I suggest we all split up, there is no way that Sasuke guy would place all the shuriken in one area.? Yohiko commented wisely. ?I mean, what would be the point of going solo then.?

Akio stopped. ?You go ahead then, I think he would try to trick us. He wants us to think they are in separate places, when he put them together.? She winked and looked at Shogo.

?Um? do you want to come with me Shogo?? Her voice was very quiet as she turned away and blushed.

Shogo blinked then shrugged, ?Yeah, I will.?

Yohiko looked at them strangely and backed up. ?Whatever you want, but in the end, you?ll see me in the winner?s circle.? He chuckled. ?Anyway, good luck..? With that, he ran off in the opposite direction. ?Man? this is going to be easy.?

The two remanding ninja looked at him in the distance. Shogo folded his arms and let out a puff.

?Wow, Yohiko such a jerk, He thinks that he is the best and always will be. Why don?t I just forget about it? it?s not like he will be able to rant forever.? He closed his eyes and clenched his fist. ?I will show him? he thinks he is better then me but he?s wrong.?

After some thinking, he turned to Akio.

?We are loosing time, let?s get moving.?

Akio was caught of guard and smiled. ?I guess we should.? She looked around. ?I don?t know which way we should go, but it is all about trial and error.? The wind blew gently, tugging her hair back. ?Follow me Shogo.? Her voice was relaxed because she didn?t fear that they would not succeed.

The two ran off in a totally different direction than Yohiko. Every bush or plant they passed, they looked in. Every box or they saw, they picked it up. ?I think we are getting close Shogo, I just know it.?

Shogo looked at Akio filled with curiosity. ?Really? I wish I had your confidence. If you say so, I believe you.? He ran a bit faster. ?We only have a hour left and we still need to find Sasuke Sensei.? He looked around and started to get worried. ?Akio? Akio, where did you go!?

?I?m over here Shogo.? She waved her hands in the air franticly. ?Come here, you have to see this quickly!? Very excited, she hoped up and down. People around her began to laugh.

?Okay? I?m coming.? Shogo sighed and ran over to Akio?s position. He shot his hand up in the air and patted her on the back. ?Way to go Akio! You found them, you found all of them!? He bent down behind the tree and picked one up. ?Now to find Sensei??

Akio grinned quickly and picked on up for herself. ?Yeah? I guess I did.? She took a deep breathe and ran on forward. ?We have no time to waste? even though we are in the lead.?

?Splendid, lets go!? They looked at each other with a smile and began running in search of Sasuke. Meanwhile, Yohiko was still looking for a shuriken and getting frustrated.

Akio and Shogo went to some public places then stopped. ?He?s probably hiding somewhere away, a big area?? Shogo explained. ?I bet he is in the forest? should we look there??

Yohiko took a deep sigh. ?Where in the hell can I find a shuriken.? He sat on a bench and wiped away some sweat. ?The sun is setting, I must be running out of time.? He banged his fist on the bench leaving his hand in a some pain. ?It?s time I get moving. I have been on one side of the village his whole time. Why don?t I go the way my squad members went. After some debating, he hoped up and bolted through crowds of people in attempt to complete this mission. In a bit, he caught sight of Akio and Shogo. That meant they had been this way, and they were headed for the forest.

?They must have got the? shuriken?? He bit his lip. ?Shoot, got to find one and catch up.? Time was nearing to an end. Yohiko went to a bush that had appeared to be ripped open under a tree. ?Bingo?? He grabbed the last shuriken and sprinted behind Akio and Shogo. ?Hey guys, look out!? Yohiko was the fastest one in the group and could catch them easily.

?Akio? he is right behind us, but how?? Shogo look concerned and took a few glances over his shoulder. ?That snake, he must have followed us. We have to go faster!? His hopes were running short. He knew that they couldn?t surpass, or even match to him. Yohiko was drawing near. In a few seconds Shogo stopped and looked at Akio.

?You go ahead, I will stay back? Shogo pulled out a shuriken. ?I doubt I can defeat, but I could at least slow him down.?

?But Shogo! Why don?t you just come along, we don?t have to win.? She looked at him worried, but she still ran.

He put a thumbs up, ?I know, but you deserve it, don?t stop or look back. At least one of us can make it on time.? Shogo nodded and gave Akio an assuring expression. She smiled slightly and kept going.

Yohiko looked at Shogo funny and went faster. ?Are you serious? Why don?t you just keep going and let me be on my way Shogo. Please don?t make me get past you by force.? His expression turned serious. ?I don?t have all night.?

?Let?s face it Yohiko, or why don?t you face it. You are not as tough as you think, at this point, we are both equals? prove to me that I?m an easy match like you say or imply that I am.? Angry, Shogo threw his shuriken at a dangerous pace toward Yohiko. He wouldn?t want to hit a comrade, but Yohiko would have to dodge it.

His face tightened up as he dodged the projectile that whizzed passed his face. He ran toward Shogo without hesitation and put his fist in the air. ?You better look out.? Yohiko shot his fist forward in a attempt to strike Shogo?s jaw.

?Not so fast Yohiko.? Shogo gritted his teeth and put his hand up blocking the punch. His body began to be pushed back leaving a track in the Earth as his held on to Yohiko?s fist tightly. He growled and put his leg in the air. Shogo put much force into it as he swung it toward Yohiko?s head.

Yohiko saw the attack out of the corner of his eye. ?I cant block, it but I can dodge.? He swiftly ducked the attack, crouching down. ?Beat this!? He balled up his other hand and went for an uppercut to Shogo?s gut. It seemed like the attack went into slow motion, but then the impact sent a shock through Shogo?s body. Yohiko and looked up at the sky and moved closer.

?Gah?? Shogo bent over and held his stomach tightly. He looked up at Yohiko and smirked, ?Nice job? I?m done for now, but it?s too late for you anyway.?

The boy smacked his face then sighed. ?I forgot, I should have just went around you. I have to hand it you Shogo, you have some smartness. But you also have the extra work.? Yohiko didn?t say anything else, or he would sound real stupid. Of course Shogo wouldn?t take any offense to it, he wanted to be an obstacle so Akio could win, even if it meant being last. His expression turned to one of shame as he turned away from his partner and ran off toward Sasuke.

Shogo got up and smiled. ?At least I did something right?? Time was near over, he would be last anyway. He wiped his clothes off haphazardly and began walking down the path slowly. There were footsteps left on the ground, the dirt must have been pretty fertile. His face was facing the ground. Meantime, he thought a bit about what it would be like as a ninja. Would he like it? Will it hurt him? Not much could happen at this point anyway. Time seemed to drag on, but soon enough he saw his squad waiting, staring at him.

?Yo Shogo! Hurry up? Sensei has to tell us something.? Yohiko looked at him and grinned. H decided to give the kid some credit, he wasn?t the best ninja, but he had the heart. That more thank Yohiko could say about himself. But it was still fun to crack on Shogo once in a while.

?Yeah, I?m coming.? Reluctantly, Shogo broke into a steady sprint and went over the group. It was the evening, they couldn?t have been planning much.

Sasuke looked at him surprised and shrugged. ?I?m had enough for one day anyway, these kids got a lot to say and a lot on their minds?? The Raven haired boy put his handout and grabbed the shuriken. ?I decided not to make you do extra work, but you kids need to learn how important your squad members are.? He held his head back and murmured, ?Heh? I learned the hard way.? Quickly, he looked at the squad. ?Tomorrow, we?re gonna do some group exercises.? He rubbed his hands together, ?Then we can go on a mission I suppose.?

The Gennin looked at him wide eyed. The were hungry for a real mission, would it be what they expected??

Chapter 3: The Training, The Reunion, The Mission?

It was pretty early. The sun had just came up totally making the sky a nice pale color. The squad rested against the tree, tired and anxious. It was time for some serious training, at least that is what they hoped. Akio twirled her hair, Shogo played with his thumbs, and Yohiko gazed at the sky. Sasuke should have arrived a few minuets ago, but it was still early to get upset.

?Uh? I think I see him now? Akio pointed excited, but unsure.

The young Uchiha was in sight, walking slow and calmly. He seemed to take his time for his own reasons. His squad looked disappointed, but they decided to keep their mouths shut. The time of day was no burden to him lately he woke up this early anyway. He took a moment to look at the squad, they seemed to be in top shape today.

?So, good morning I suppose. Time for some training. Before I can teach you anything good, we need to go over the basics.? Sasuke pulled out a scroll and laid on the ground in front of them. ?That?s a scroll about chakra? instead of reading, first I want to ask if you guys understand chakra.?

Shogo raised his hand quite abruptly and waved it franticly. ?Ooh? I know!?

Sasuke rolled his eyes, why was Shogo getting so excited. ?Go ahead??

?Okay? The boy took a breath and thought for a moment on how to explain. ?Chakra is a type of energy that ninja uses to perform their techniques or jutsu. To mold chakra, you must use body and spiritual energy. Once they blend together, you must form the proper hand seals to execute your jutsu and make it effective. Another important part of chakra is Stamina. Without stamina, you cannot have chakra.? Shogo smiled proud of himself.

?Right? can someone tell me the different types of hand seals?? Sasuke looked at the squad, and one person raised his hand.

Yohiko nodded. ?Allow me? the different hand seals are Dog, Dragon, Goat, Horse Monkey, Ox, Pig, Rabbit, Rat, Rooster, Snake, and Tiger.? He counted and added, ?That is all.?

Sasuke was impressed, but still had on more question. ?There isn?t a right answer to this one, but there are a few thing to say. Describe the ?Chakra System.? He looked at Akio and crossed his arms. ?Your turn??

She smiled some and had to think her answer through. The wind hit her gently letting her feel relaxed. ?I?m gonna give it a shot.? She looked at everyone.

?Chakra is contained in things called, ?Chakra Coils.? The chakra or energy travels through the chakra system which is actually called the ?Chakra Circulatory System.? She sighed and put her hands out. ?That?s all I can think off.?

Their sensei covered his chin and smiled about to make them feel comfortable while he thought it through. ?Very good I must say. You guys are good in your heads, but I need to see how you fight.? He moved over to an open area. ?You?ll have to fight me. Unlike what someone here thought about using teamwork the other day, we will use it today. It?s absolutely necessary?? Sasuke stared and him confidently. ?I just hope you know that you guys don?t stand a chance against me, so don?t get disappointed at the end.? He gestured for the Gennin to come over to him. After a few seconds, they stood their, ears wide open. ?Then we should talk, so stay her after this training.?

?This is gonna be awesome!? Shogo cracked his knuckles and pulled out a kunai. Yohiko grabbed a few Shuriken, and Akio stood behind them unprepared. She admired their enthusiasm, but wanted to watch the training.

Sasuke took a few steps back. ?Get ready to go all out?? He paused. ?Go!?

Yohiko threw his shuriken rapidly as he ran forward to the right of his sensei. Sasuke examined his movements and moved over to the left. He dodged the shuriken and looked at them whiz by him. He looked over at Yohiko than ran toward Shogo. He put a fist up, and Shogo ducked it just barely and put his hand up. He went for an elbow to Sasuke?s side. He forced it to the side ducked. Easily, Sasuke grabbed it and pushed Shogo to the ground hard.

His face became dirty as he spit out some dirt. ?Not so hard Sensei?? Shogo got to his knees and looked at the fight. Sasuke glared at him disappointed, ?In the world of shinobi, there is no mercy.?

Akio stood by and buried her face in her hands. The light sound of Sasuke?s footsteps caused to react by puling out her kunai. Sasuke ran toward her and leaped in the air. His body blocked the light, decreasing Akio?s view. She shrieked, and held the kunai high in the air. Yohiko came back and looked at Sasuke with anger and sprinted toward him. Akio saw Yohiko out of the corner of her eye, but still kept the kunai in the air. Sasuke was coming down thanks to gravity and approached her.

Yohiko jumped as high as he could, he put his leg out. As hard as he could, he spun his body around to thrust his foot into Sasuke?s face. The Uchiha gasped and put his upper arm in front of it. ?This sucker is pretty fast?? Now they weren?t the only ones in action, Shogo got up and clenched his fist.

?I have to do something? He began to get worried, as of now he was useless. He formed a hand seal to perform the only jutsu he knew. ?Shadow Clone Jutsu? After the smoke cleared, an identical clone stood next to Shogo. They ran toward their teammates and they both unsheathed a shuriken from their pouches. Shogo looked at his clone and nodded. ?Stay back for now?? He ran up and threw his projectile at Sasuke, it would at least break the Jounin away from the Gennin. The sun caused a glare on the shuriken making Sasuke aware of the oncoming threat.

?Hm?.? He grabbed on to Yohiko?s leg as the got near to the ground. Yohiko looked at him and panicked.

?W- What is he doing??

Sasuke flipped his lower body up while holding onto Yohiko. The shuriken came near and Sasuke was out of the way by about one foot already. Now in the clear, he pushed Yohiko down. Yohiko turned to his side and put his moved his shoulder forward.

?I can get control?? He landed on the ground with a thud. Dirt seemed to rise from all around him as he rolled uncontrollably on the hard ground. After a few spins, he laid there, barely moving with taking deep breaths. He looked on at his squad, It would be a bit before he felt comfortable with fighting. The sudden rush of things made him shaky.

?Yohiko!? Shogo looked at him, then he looked at Akio who was looking at Sasuke who had just reached the surface. ?Akio, we have to do something? don?t just stand there. I got your back no matter what!?

Akio looked at him sheepishly. She felt helpless, it made her embarrassed actually. She looked at Yohiko on the ground, and felt bad. It was her fault, if she would have just moved, or even tried right away. ?I?m sorry guys.? She got walked toward Sasuke. ?And now I am going to make it up.? With a grin, she tightened her headband. Shogo came over and stood next to his clone. He looked at Akio and gave her an assuring look. They turned there attention to the Uchiha, their sensei.

?Let?s bring it on!? The two students plus a clone ran toward Sasuke. Akio crouched down low while Shogo stayed up, and his clone went in the air. ?Take this Sensei!? Shogo yelled, very optimistic. He put his leg in the air, while Akio slid to the ground underneath him, aiming for Sasuke?s legs. The Uchiha smirked and flipped back dodging the real Shogo?s and Akio?s attacks. Akio soon stopped in her tracks and Shogo kept running while his clone started descend. ?Let?s see how this works out.? He put his arms up and grabbed his clones waist. ?Step one, the action force!? He held the clone back against the wind to store energy. ?Step two, the reaction force!?

Sasuke looked at the boy oddly. ?The kid is actually using science.? He chuckled a bit and got ready.

Shogo threw the clone like an object in front of him. It seemed to fly for a bit as Shogo ran out in front of it. Akio soon followed. The clone was getting closer and closer to Sasuke. The Uchiha unsheathed his Kusanagi and held it in an upward position.

?Be careful guys?? Sasuke put his blade down hard, slicing through the Clone.

Shogo and Akio slowed down. Akio grabbed her kunai again and ran ahead of Shogo. The next thing they knew, Yohiko was standing behind Sasuke a few feet away. His eyes were shaded by his headband hiding his emotion. Sasuke turned his head to look at the boy for a split second, then he saw Akio out of the corner of his eye. His sword made contact with the kunai causing a tinting noise. He wouldn?t have used it on the kids anyway. Shogo shot up and went for a punch to the chest. Sasuke broke away from Akio and jumped back. Yohiko came around and smiled.

?Nice try Sasuke!? He put his leg out and spun it around into Sasuke?s lower back. He closed his eyes, but realized that nothing was there anymore. ?Wait, what?? He opened his eyes and balled himself up in the air. ?A clone, that looser!? Softly, he rolled on the ground upon landing and went into a standing position. The squad glared at the spot where the real Sasuke should have landed after the squad got a hit in.

A clap arose from a distance and soon enough, Sasuke strolled in with a grin on his face. ?It wasn?t a great try, but it wasn?t bad.?

?You?re a coward, why didn?t you just fight us upfront, Mr. Uchiha!? Yohiko was fusing for a moment. They did all that just to beat a stupid clone.

?Well, Mr. Uchiha would beat you all the way to Suna. But really, I needed to watch you from a distance.? He walked a bit closer and took a deep breath. ?If you remember, the of our squad members went for attack on their own? and that ended up in failure. One squad member was about to be attack, but when someone else came to save the day? we had success. When three of you attacked me at once? we had success. Understand what I?m trying to get at??

?Yes I do Sensei.? Akio spoke proudly, it may have been a clone, but the squad got a hit. Shogo and Yohiko nodded at the statement. They crossed there arms and waited for the next instruction.

?Well, lets go over a few Taijutsu basics.? Sasuke and the squad walked over to the trees and went deeper into the forest. They began to learn stances, proper balance, and technique to help them have a better chance of hitting their target. They also learned a few pressure and chakra points also. These lessons went on for a few hours before they decided to settle down.

Sasuke sat down and the Gennin followed him. ?So, I know your abilities, speed, and can guess your knowledge. Now I need to know your abilities and goals.? He pulled out a pad and pen. The Uchiha didn?t feel like remembering information. He looked at the young Gennin?s faces as they thought thing through. It was still very early, maybe after this they could have the rest of the day off, but he still had to get them a mission from lady Hokage?s Office.

Akio began to talk. ?Well, I am Akio Nara, so have the ability to manipulate shadows and make jutsu with them. I only know how and when I can use shadows, but I still do not know how to manipulate them. My goals are to learn Genjutsu and Medical Ninjutsu, so I can prove a Kunoichi?s worth. But I still need to learn how to use shadows in the meantime.? She put her hands together and sighed, ?That is all.?

?My turn, I am from a clan that originated in the Cloud Village. My clan, the Raidon clan, has an over average chakra supply, so we can use our clan secrets and become Raiton Jutsu Masters.? He nodded, he didn?t think of it as boasting. ?My goal is to be named a thunder god, and to be a legacy that future generation can look at and say they want to be like me..? He put a thumbs up.

Yohiko laughed a bit. ?Hmm? I don?t really have any abilities except for my Taijutsu and being able to use weapons really good.? He shrugged and had to think. ?As of now, I do not have any goal or dream?? His expression turned dim as he played with the grass.

?Right?? Sasuke looked at him and thought back to his first day with Kakashi?s squad. At least their goals were better than his. Sasuke didn?t know what else to do. Things were getting awkward and he pulled of his bag from his shoulders. It leaned on his leg as he started to rummage through it. Then he pulled out 3 scrolls and rolled them in front of each Gennin.

?Take these? they have a lesson and some information on chakra control. I want you to read later at home and we will discuss it tomorrow? I think you had enough training for today.? Sasuke put his arms out and stretched, then let out a yawn. ?I am pretty tired myself.? He put his hand out and frowned. ?Now get out of here??

The squad squealed some. But when Sasuke gave them the death glare, they stopped almost immediately and put their scrolls away.

?Goodbye Sensei!!!? Akio grinned at Sasuke and ran away with excitement. Yohiko looked at her and sighed. He then grabbed his bag and left the area without a word. Shogo took a few glances at the Uchiha who was in his own world, laying in the grass.

?See ya? Sensei.? Shogo looked on and followed his teammates out of the forest.

Sasuke looked at the squad as they walked away and grinned. ?I finally get a break today.? He thought about what he had saw from the team and what he needed to do now. Tsunade would have his head if he failed the group. That would be even more troublesome. He gazed at the clouds and frequently began to doze off. Soon, he got the nap he wanted and the breeze sooth his mind.

Sasuke felt the area around him realizing he had fell asleep in the forest. His clothes were cold, so where his hands. When he opened hi eyes, the sun was almost set and the stars began to shine above him. The drowsy Uchiha put his head up and looked around, he was alone. Slowly, he sat up, then stood up. ?Hey!? A few birds were nipping on his bag for food. Startled, they flew away and soared over the forest. Sasuke looked on as he staggered a bit before walking properly. All he heard was the chirp of crickets, and the wind walking by him. Then he heard something faint, which he couldn?t make out.

He stopped and looked around? nothing. Cautiously, he began to walk and heard it again. This time it sounded like footsteps, very fast footsteps.

Who could it be?

?I know your there?? He threw a shuirken at a nearby tree. ?Caught the act and show yourself.? Sasuke stood calmly as the noises stopped. Then a rustling of the leaves in the tree behind him caught his attention. It couldn?t have been the wind, those leaves were too loud.

?SASUKE!!!? A figure appeared from the trees in the air. It blocked the moon as the long headband fluttered. His arms reached open wide as he appeared to get bigger, but he was just getting closer.

The shock on Sasuke?s face could make anyone know who he thought was calling his name. ?N- Naruto? What are you doing??

The blonde haired ninja fell on Sasuke and cupped his arms around Sasuke?s mouth. They fell to the ground and the ninja pulled out a kunai and put it to Sasuke?s neck. ?Don?t move? we need to talk.? Sasuke smirked and closed his mouth tightly. Soon, the weight came off of him and his old companion stood in front of him with his arms crossed.

?So, your back? Sasuke.?

?Yes I am, did you think I didn?t know that.?

?I?m not playing any games with you, and I wasn?t back then.?

?Then why did I come back on my own? Naruto? Tell me.?

Naruto growled and put his hand in a fist. ?Shut up! Your still the same, you will probably never change.? His face tightened up. ?Look, I just need to ask you something.?

Sasuke looked at and nodded. ?Go ahead dope?? He hadn?t said that in a while.

?Why are you back? And do you know how much hurt you put everyone through.?

He laughed slightly and sighed. ?You still don?t get it do you? I left for myself, it had nothing to do with anyone else in this village, so you and everyone else can get off my back. It?s not my fault you couldn?t handle the fact that I left.? He looked Naruto in the eyes and stood up. He brushed his clothes off and began to talk quietly.

?And honestly, I don?t know why I came back. Even if I did, you don?t have to know, so I wouldn?t tell you.? He put his hand in a fist and punched the tree leaving a mark. ?Damn? Can I get some space around here??

Naruto walked up to him and punched him in the mouth. ?Guess what Jerk, it is our problem. People almost died trying to save you!?

?Save me? I told you a long time ago. I did not want to be saved. So I guess you guys risked your lives for nothing.? He wiped his mouth and brought his hand out of his sleeve. He put it forward and punched Naruto in the gut. Then he brought his leg up and kicked him in the ribs. Naruto gasped and flew into the air. Eventually he banged his head on a tree and slumped down to the ground. Blood poured out his mouth and he smiled.

?Well, I don?t regret what I did. So stop acting like you know the whole story tough guy.? Naruto coughed, and slowly got back on his feet as he leaned on a tree. ?I don?t want to fight you even though I know I would win.? The ninja walked up to Sasuke and leaned over his shoulder. Then he whispered in his ear?

Sasuke laughed, ?And I?m the tough guy??

?I think you regret your choice in the long run..? He paused. ?But you just never realized it.? Naruto patted him on the back. ?So Sasuke, what do you say? Forget about the past and let bygones be bygones. Everyone else may shun you, but you will always be my friend.?

The Uchiha?s eyes opened wide. He took a step back and looked at Naruto with a smile. He held his hand out with his palm showing. It was for a handshake. Then he winked.

?Heh? I guess we were always like? brothers. Sasuke and Naruto, Ultimate Rivals, Best Friends.?

Naruto walked up and open his hand with a grin of relief on his face. It was like old times. Soon, the hands connected and they looked each other in the eye seriously. Sasuke?s eyes began to shut close. He let out a deep breath.

?I?m sorry Naruto??

His eyes shot open and they began spinning like a pinwheel. They were a dark red, they were the Sharingan. Naruto soon went into a daze, he then feel to the ground on his knees.

?Get off my back Naruto.? Sasuke scowled at him and brought his knee up to Naruto?s face. Sasuke looked on as Naruto flew back a few feet and skid in the dirt. He coughed up a blood and it ran down his chin. Naruto shook and slowly opened his eyes. His vision was blurred as he tried to see if Sasuke had snuck away.

And he did.

The blonde haired boy put his head to the round and sighed while gazing at the starts that began to show.

Chapter 3: The Training, The Reunion, The Mission?

It was pretty early. The sun had just came up totally making the sky a nice pale color. The squad rested against the tree, tired and anxious. It was time for some serious training, at least that is what they hoped. Akio twirled her hair, Shogo played with his thumbs, and Yohiko gazed at the sky. Sasuke should have arrived a few minuets ago, but it was still early to get upset.

2 hours later….

Sasuke leaped into the trees and sped away without looking back. His hair blew in his face a bit and he slowed down. It was getting late so he decided to hurry up and get a mission for his squad. Unless he saw them tonight, which he doubted, they would find out about it tomorrow. He wiped off some sweat and began to reach an opening. An opening of the trees that is and he dropped to the ground. People starting leaving the streets for dinner or just to do their evening activities. Sasuke walked at a speedy pace toward the Hokage’s Office. In a few minuets, it toward above him and he jumped roof to roof instead of climbing the rigorous staircase. He perched his head in the window of Tsunade’s office while crouched on the window seal.

Tsunade put her pen down and closed her eyes. “Didn’t expect you back, so soon. What do you need?”

The Uchiha swung in and walked in front of here desk. “My Squad wants a mission, so I am here to get one.” He sucked his teeth and tapped his foot. “Let me guess, its gonna be an easy one where you pull weeds out of the dirt.”

“Something around those lines.” She unrolled a scroll and scanned its options. She stopped at the sixth. Tsunade looked at Sasuke and picked up her pen.

“The Librarian needs some help putting books on her shelves again. Some raccoon I think got in and messed up her library.” She chuckled and began to write some information on a piece of paper. Eventually she stopped and looked over it once. Then she slid it near the edge of the table quickly.

Sasuke grabbed it and looked it over. “Wow… I will probably be back tomorrow after the squad is done with this.” He bowed and hopped out of the window swiftly with the scroll tightly In his hand. A noisy clamor reached his ear and he turned the corner to find out what it was. Next thing he knew, a bunch of small people ran toward him with glee.

“Yo Sensei! Did you get us a mission?” The girl looked up at him since the height difference was dramatic.

Sasuke handed her the scroll. She opened it without patience and the other Gennin leaned over her shoulder. There excitement turned into surprise. Yohiko’s face turned red as he stomped the ground.

“Oh… I hate libraries. And that isn’t even a real mission. Go get us a real one, we were serious before when we asked, so why couldn’t you be.”

Sasuke looked him causing Yohiko to step back cautiously. “I did, and in Konohagakure, it’s normal to give novice shinobi these kind of missions. So get used to it.” He took the scroll from Yuki who was still staring at it in a bad kind of awe.

He looked at the scroll and pointed at something. “It looks like this mission will take place at Five A.M. so we can fix things up before the library opens at Eight. Well Damn… the crows aren’t even up that early.”

Shogo slapped himself in the face and sighed. “Five A.M., that is just too early. I enjoy libraries in all but I never go there that early let alone anywhere.” He looked at Sasuke in return and Sasuke shrugged with that “Oh well” Context behind it.

“Well don’t complaint to me. You wanted a mission.” He put his hands behind his head and grinned.

“So be there quarter to five. After we are done, we will learn something new tomorrow. Once we get that handled, I will try to get you guys a good mission.”

The squad clapped their hands.

“I guess we have no choice then…” Akio scratched her head ad sighed. “See you in the morning Sensei.”

The boys nodded and followed behind Yohiko and soon were out of view. Sasuke sighed and began walking home.



“Uh… I think I see him now” Akio pointed excited, but unsure.

The young Uchiha was in sight, walking slow and calmly. He seemed to take his time for his own reasons. His squad looked disappointed, but they decided to keep their mouths shut. The time of day was no burden to him lately he woke up this early anyway. He took a moment to look at the squad, they seemed to be in top shape today.

“So, good morning I suppose. Time for some training. Before I can teach you anything good, we need to go over the basics.” Sasuke pulled out a scroll and laid on the ground in front of them. “That’s a scroll about chakra… instead of reading, first I want to ask if you guys

Shogo raised his hand quite abruptly and waved it franticly. “Ooh… I know!”

Sasuke rolled his eyes, why was Shogo getting so excited. “Go ahead…”

“Okay” The boy took a breath and thought for a moment on how to explain. “Chakra is a type of energy that ninja uses to perform their techniques or jutsu. To mold chakra, you must use body and spiritual energy. Once they blend together, you must form the proper hand seals to execute your jutsu and make it effective. Another important part of chakra is Stamina. Without stamina, you cannot have chakra.” Shogo smiled proud of himself.

Their sensei covered his chin and smiled about to make them feel comfortable while he thought it through. “Very good I must say. You guys are good in your heads, but I need to see how you fight.” He moved over to an open area. “You’ll have to fight me. Unlike what someone here thought about using teamwork the other day, we will use it today. It’s absolutely necessary…” Sasuke stared and him confidently. “I just hope you know that you guys don’t stand a chance against me, so don’t get disappointed at the end.” He gestured for the Gennin to come over to him. After a few seconds, they stood their, ears wide open. “Then we should talk, so stay her after this training.”

“This is gonna be awesome!” Shogo cracked his knuckles and pulled out a kunai. Yohiko grabbed a few Shuriken, and Akio stood behind them unprepared. She admired their enthusiasm, but wanted to watch the training.

Sasuke took a few steps back. “Get ready to go all out…” He paused. “Go!”

Yohiko threw his shuriken rapidly as he ran forward to the right of his sensei. Sasuke examined his movements and moved over to the left. He dodged the shuriken and looked at them whiz by him. He looked over at Yohiko than ran toward Shogo. He put a fist up, and Shogo ducked it just barely and put his hand up. He went for an elbow to Sasuke’s side. He forced it to the side ducked. Easily, Sasuke grabbed it and pushed Shogo to the ground hard.

His face became dirty as he spit out some dirt. “Not so hard Sensei…” Shogo got to his knees and looked at the fight. Sasuke glared at him disappointed, “In the world of shinobi, there is no mercy.”

Akio stood by and buried her face in her hands. The light sound of Sasuke’s footsteps caused to react by puling out her kunai. Sasuke ran toward her and leaped in the air. His body blocked the light, decreasing Akio’s view. She shrieked, and held the kunai high in the air. Yohiko came back and looked at Sasuke with anger and sprinted toward him. Akio saw Yohiko out of the corner of her eye, but still kept the kunai in the air. Sasuke was coming down thanks to gravity and approached her.

Yohiko jumped as high as he could, he put his leg out. As hard as he could, he spun his body around to thrust his foot into Sasuke’s face. The Uchiha gasped and put his upper arm in front of it. “This sucker is pretty fast…” Now they weren’t the only ones in action, Shogo got up and clenched his fist.

“I have to do something” He began to get worried, as of now he was useless. He formed a hand seal to perform the only jutsu he knew. “Shadow Clone Jutsu” After the smoke cleared, an identical clone stood next to Shogo. They ran toward their teammates and they both unsheathed a shuriken from their pouches. Shogo looked at his clone and nodded. “Stay back for now…” He ran up and threw his projectile at Sasuke, it would at least break the Jounin away from the Gennin. The sun caused a glare on the shuriken making Sasuke aware of the oncoming threat.

“Hm….” He grabbed on to Yohiko’s leg as the got near to the ground. Yohiko looked at him and panicked.

“W- What is he doing?”

Sasuke flipped his lower body up while holding onto Yohiko. The shuriken came near and Sasuke was out of the way by about one foot already. Now in the clear, he pushed Yohiko down. Yohiko turned to his side and put his moved his shoulder forward.

“I can get control…” He landed on the ground with a thud. Dirt seemed to rise from all around him as he rolled uncontrollably on the hard ground. After a few spins, he laid there, barely moving with taking deep breaths. He looked on at his squad, It would be a bit before he felt comfortable with fighting. The sudden rush of things made him shaky.

“Yohiko!” Shogo looked at him, then he looked at Akio who was looking at Sasuke who had just reached the surface. “Akio, we have to do something… don’t just stand there. I got your back no matter what!”

Akio looked at him sheepishly. She felt helpless, it made her embarrassed actually. She looked at Yohiko on the ground, and felt bad. It was her fault, if she would have just moved, or even tried right away. “I’m sorry guys.” She got walked toward Sasuke. “And now I am going to make it up.” With a grin, she tightened her headband. Shogo came over and stood next to his clone. He looked at Akio and gave her an assuring look. They turned there attention to the Uchiha, their sensei.

“Let’s bring it on!” The two students plus a clone ran toward Sasuke. Akio crouched down low while Shogo stayed up, and his clone went in the air. “Take this Sensei!’ Shogo yelled, very optimistic. He put his leg in the air, while Akio slid to the ground underneath him, aiming for Sasuke’s legs. The Uchiha smirked and flipped back dodging the real Shogo’s and Akio’s attacks. Akio soon stopped in her tracks and Shogo kept running while his clone started descend. “Let’s see how this works out.” He put his arms up and grabbed his clones waist. “Step one, the action force!” He held the clone back against the wind to store energy. “Step two, the reaction force!”

Sasuke looked at the boy oddly. “The kid is actually using science.” He chuckled a bit and got ready.

Shogo threw the clone like an object in front of him. It seemed to fly for a bit as Shogo ran out in front of it. Akio soon followed. The clone was getting closer and closer to Sasuke. The Uchiha unsheathed his Kusanagi and held it in an upward position.

“Be careful guys…” Sasuke put his blade down hard, slicing through the Clone.

Shogo and Akio slowed down. Akio grabbed her kunai again and ran ahead of Shogo. The next thing they knew, Yohiko was standing behind Sasuke a few feet away. His eyes were shaded by his headband hiding his emotion. Sasuke turned his head to look at the boy for a split second, then he saw Akio out of the corner of his eye. His sword made contact with the kunai causing a tinting noise. He wouldn’t have used it on the kids anyway. Shogo shot up and went for a punch to the chest. Sasuke broke away from Akio and jumped back. Yohiko came around and smiled.

“Nice try Sasuke!” He put his leg out and spun it around into Sasuke’s lower back. He closed his eyes, but realized that nothing was there anymore. “Wait, what?” He opened his eyes and balled himself up in the air. “A clone, that looser!” Softly, he rolled on the ground upon landing and went into a standing position. The squad glared at the spot where the real Sasuke should have landed after the squad got a hit in.

A clap arose from a distance and soon enough, Sasuke strolled in with a grin on his face. “It wasn’t a great try, but it wasn’t bad.”

“You’re a coward, why didn’t you just fight us upfront, Mr. Uchiha!” Yohiko was fusing for a moment. They did all that just to beat a stupid clone.

“Well, Mr. Uchiha would beat you all the way to Suna. But really, I needed to watch you from a distance.” He walked a bit closer and took a deep breath. “If you remember, the of our squad members went for attack on their own… and that ended up in failure. One squad member was about to be attack, but when someone else came to save the day… we had success. When three of you attacked me at once… we had success. Understand what I’m trying to get at?”

“Yes I do Sensei.” Akio spoke proudly, it may have been a clone, but the squad got a hit. Shogo and Yohiko nodded at the statement. They crossed there arms and waited for the next instruction.

“Well, lets go over a few Taijutsu basics.” Sasuke and the squad walked over to the trees and went deeper into the forest. They began to learn stances, proper balance, and technique to help them have a better chance of hitting their target. They also learned a few pressure and chakra points also. These lessons went on for a few hours before they decided to settle down.

Sasuke sat down and the Gennin followed him. “So, I know your abilities, speed, and can guess your knowledge. Now I need to know your abilities and goals.” He pulled out a pad and pen. The Uchiha didn’t feel like remembering information. He looked at the young Gennin’s faces as they thought thing through. It was still very early, maybe after this they could have the rest of the day off, but he still had to get them a mission from lady Hokage’s Office.

Akio began to talk. “Well, I am Akio Nara, so have the ability to manipulate shadows and make jutsu with them. I only know how and when I can use shadows, but I still do not know how to manipulate them. My goals are to learn Genjutsu and Medical Ninjutsu, so I can prove a Kunoichi’s worth. But I still need to learn how to use shadows in the meantime.” She put her hands together and sighed, “That is all.”

“My turn, I am from a clan that originated in the Cloud Village. My clan, the Raidon clan, has an over average chakra supply, so we can use our clan secrets and become Raiton Jutsu Masters.” He nodded, he didn’t think of it as boasting. “My goal is to be named a thunder god, and to be a legacy that future generation can look at and say they want to be like me..” He put a thumbs up.

Yohiko laughed a bit. “Hmm… I don’t really have any abilities except for my Taijutsu and being able to use weapons really good.” He shrugged and had to think. “As of now, I do not have any goal or dream…” His expression turned dim as he played with the grass.

“Right…” Sasuke looked at him and thought back to his first day with Kakashi’s squad. At least their goals were better than his. Sasuke didn’t know what else to do. Things were getting awkward and he pulled of his bag from his shoulders. It leaned on his leg as he started to rummage through it. Then he pulled out 3 scrolls and rolled them in front of each Gennin.

“Take these… they have a lesson and some information on chakra control. I want you to read later at home and we will discuss it tomorrow… I think you had enough training for today.” Sasuke put his arms out and stretched, then let out a yawn. “I am pretty tired myself.” He put his hand out and frowned. “Now get out of here…”

The squad squealed some. But when Sasuke gave them the death glare, they stopped almost immediately and put their scrolls away.

“Goodbye Sensei!!!” Akio grinned at Sasuke and ran away with excitement. Yohiko looked at her and sighed. He then grabbed his bag and left the area without a word. Shogo took a few glances at the Uchiha who was in his own world, laying in the grass.

“See ya… Sensei.” Shogo looked on and followed his teammates out of the forest.

Sasuke looked at the squad as they walked away and grinned. “I finally get a break today.” He thought about what he had saw from the team and what he needed to do now. Tsunade would have his head if he failed the group. That would be even more troublesome. He gazed at the clouds and frequently began to doze off. Soon, he got the nap he wanted and the breeze sooth his mind.

2 hours later….

Sasuke felt the area around him realizing he had fell asleep in the forest. His clothes were cold, so where his hands. When he opened hi eyes, the sun was almost set and the stars began to shine above him. The drowsy Uchiha put his head up and looked around, he was alone. Slowly, he sat up, then stood up. “Hey!” A few birds were nipping on his bag for food. Startled, they flew away and soared over the forest. Sasuke looked on as he staggered a bit before walking properly. All he heard was the chirp of crickets, and the wind walking by him. Then he heard something faint, which he couldn’t make out.

He stopped and looked around… nothing. Cautiously, he began to walk and heard it again. This time it sounded like footsteps, very fast footsteps.

Who could it be?

“I know your there…” He threw a shuirken at a nearby tree. “Caught the act and show yourself.” Sasuke stood calmly as the noises stopped. Then a rustling of the leaves in the tree behind him caught his attention. It couldn’t have been the wind, those leaves were too loud.

“SASUKE!!!” A figure appeared from the trees in the air. It blocked the moon as the long headband fluttered. His arms reached open wide as he appeared to get bigger, but he was just getting closer.

The shock on Sasuke’s face could make anyone know who he thought was calling his name. “N- Naruto? What are you doing?”

The blonde haired ninja fell on Sasuke and cupped his arms around Sasuke’s mouth. They fell to the ground and the ninja pulled out a kunai and put it to Sasuke’s neck. “Don’t move… we need to talk.” Sasuke smirked and closed his mouth tightly. Soon, the weight came off of him and his old companion stood in front of him with his arms crossed.

“So, your back… Sasuke.”

“Yes I am, did you think I didn’t know that.”

“I’m not playing any games with you, and I wasn’t back then.”

“Then why did I come back on my own… Naruto? Tell me.”

Naruto growled and put his hand in a fist. “Shut up! Your still the same, you will probably never change.” His face tightened up. “Look, I just need to ask you something.”

Sasuke looked at and nodded. “Go ahead dope…” He hadn’t said that in a while.

“Why are you back? And do you know how much hurt you put everyone through.”

He laughed slightly and sighed. “You still don’t get it do you? I left for myself, it had nothing to do with anyone else in this village, so you and everyone else can get off my back. It’s not my fault you couldn’t handle the fact that I left.” He looked Naruto in the eyes and stood up. He brushed his clothes off and began to talk quietly.

“And honestly, I don’t know why I came back. Even if I did, you don’t have to know, so I wouldn’t tell you.” He put his hand in a fist and punched the tree leaving a mark. “Damn… Can I get some space around here?”

Naruto walked up to him and punched him in the mouth. “Guess what Jerk, it is our problem. People almost died trying to save you!”

“Save me… I told you a long time ago. I did not want to be saved. So I guess you guys risked your lives for nothing.” He wiped his mouth and brought his hand out of his sleeve. He put it forward and punched Naruto in the gut. Then he brought his leg up and kicked him in the ribs. Naruto gasped and flew into the air. Eventually he banged his head on a tree and slumped down to the ground. Blood poured out his mouth and he smiled.

“Well, I don’t regret what I did. So stop acting like you know the whole story tough guy.” Naruto coughed, and slowly got back on his feet as he leaned on a tree. “I don’t want to fight you even though I know I would win.” The ninja walked up to Sasuke and leaned over his shoulder. Then he whispered in his ear…

Sasuke laughed, “And I’m the tough guy…”

“I think you regret your choice in the long run..” He paused. “But you just never realized it.” Naruto patted him on the back. “So Sasuke, what do you say? Forget about the past and let bygones be bygones. Everyone else may shun you, but you will always be my friend.”

The Uchiha’s eyes opened wide. He took a step back and looked at Naruto with a smile. He held his hand out with his palm showing. It was for a handshake. Then he winked.

“Heh… I guess we were always like… brothers. Sasuke and Naruto, Ultimate Rivals, Best Friends.”

Naruto walked up and open his hand with a grin of relief on his face. It was like old times. Soon, the hands connected and they looked each other in the eye seriously. Sasuke’s eyes began to shut close. He let out a deep breath.

“I’m sorry Naruto…”

His eyes shot open and they began spinning like a pinwheel. They were a dark red, they were the Sharingan. Naruto soon went into a daze, he then feel to the ground on his knees.

“Get off my back Naruto.” Sasuke scowled at him and brought his knee up to Naruto’s face. Sasuke looked on as Naruto flew back a few feet and skid in the dirt. He coughed up a blood and it ran down his chin. Naruto shook and slowly opened his eyes. His vision was blurred as he tried to see if Sasuke had snuck away.

And he did.

The blonde haired boy put his head to the round and sighed while gazing at the starts that began to show.

Meanwhile…

Sasuke leaped into the trees and sped away without looking back. His hair blew in his face a bit and he slowed down. It was getting late so he decided to hurry up and get a mission for his squad. Unless he saw them tonight, which he doubted, they would find out about it tomorrow. He wiped off some sweat and began to reach an opening. An opening of the trees that is and he dropped to the ground. People starting leaving the streets for dinner or just to do their evening activities. Sasuke walked at a speedy pace toward the Hokage’s Office. In a few minuets, it toward above him and he jumped roof to roof instead of climbing the rigorous staircase. He perched his head in the window of Tsunade’s office while crouched on the window seal.

Tsunade put her pen down and closed her eyes. “Didn’t expect you back, so soon. What do you need?”

The Uchiha swung in and walked in front of here desk. “My Squad wants a mission, so I am here to get one.” He sucked his teeth and tapped his foot. “Let me guess, its gonna be an easy one where you pull weeds out of the dirt.”

“Something around those lines.” She unrolled a scroll and scanned its options. She stopped at the sixth. Tsunade looked at Sasuke and picked up her pen.

“The Librarian needs some help putting books on her shelves again. Some raccoon I think got in and messed up her library.” She chuckled and began to write some information on a piece of paper. Eventually she stopped and looked over it once. Then she slid it near the edge of the table quickly.

Sasuke grabbed it and looked it over. “Wow… I will probably be back tomorrow after the squad is done with this.” He bowed and hopped out of the window swiftly with the scroll tightly In his hand. A noisy clamor reached his ear and he turned the corner to find out what it was. Next thing he knew, a bunch of small people ran toward him with glee.

“Yo Sensei! Did you get us a mission?” The girl looked up at him since the height difference was dramatic.

Sasuke handed her the scroll. She opened it without patience and the other Gennin leaned over her shoulder. There excitement turned into surprise. Yohiko’s face turned red as he stomped the ground.

“Oh… I hate libraries. And that isn’t even a real mission. Go get us a real one, we were serious before when we asked, so why couldn’t you be.”

Sasuke looked him causing Yohiko to step back cautiously. “I did, and in Konohagakure, it’s normal to give novice shinobi these kind of missions. So get used to it.” He took the scroll from Yuki who was still staring at it in a bad kind of awe.

He looked at the scroll and pointed at something. “It looks like this mission will take place at Five A.M. so we can fix things up before the library opens at Eight. Well Damn… the crows aren’t even up that early.”

Shogo slapped himself in the face and sighed. “Five A.M., that is just too early. I enjoy libraries in all but I never go there that early let alone anywhere.” He looked at Sasuke in return and Sasuke shrugged with that “Oh well” Context behind it.

“Well don’t complaint to me. You wanted a mission.” He put his hands behind his head and grinned.

“So be there quarter to five. After we are done, we will learn something new tomorrow. Once we get that handled, I will try to get you guys a good mission.”

The squad clapped their hands.

“I guess we have no choice then…” Akio scratched her head ad sighed. “See you in the morning Sensei.”

The boys nodded and followed behind Yohiko and soon were out of view. Sasuke sighed and began walking home.
