You're getting too far ahead of yourself.
1. For Boruto, in that case he was face to face with a rikudou level opponent as a genin (one who was able to give Naruo and Sasuke trouble).
2. For Sarada in that case, it was her first battle experience, and she was still an academy student. She didn't even really have jutsu yet at the time.
