[Multi-Console] New Game Consoles

I have been going through old boxes at home and found my very old sega mega drive system. I was pleased to find it still working and have been enjoying some old memories and what got me into gaming in the first place. I remember when i got Nintendo64 it was a massive leap in graphics and gameplay (Doom being my fav) and again when playstation and xbox hit the scene.I was excited for the future of gaming and what they would come up with,playstation 3 and xbox360 was one example internet mulitplayer e.i playing with friends over internet because before that it was always split screen (had many a frustrated day with split screen). I only have a few problems with the Xbox360 and its mainly due to the addition of marketplace on the dashboard ie movies,apps,i bought a gaming console so that i could play with friends thats it, not a multi-media player, a computer can do 100X better at it.Now microsoft have released information about the new product Xbox 1 and i cant help but wonder when are they going to release a proper gaming console, no movies or facebook or random annoying marketplace stuff yes i want a console with internet play and dlc but thats far enough if i wanted all the other stuff i would have never bought a console but a computer anyway am i alone in this thinking or do you agree with me just wondering

The playstation 3 allowed a working physics engine integrated into game play each console brings a leap forwardto what games are now allowed to process to deliver a variety of games.All the other stuff is just a bonus,no console (by sony at least) was never released for pure marketing.

Whats wrong with having a multimedia player in a console?
In what way does it bother you?
A PC cant do 100x better at multimedia than a console. Sure a PC IS better for multimedia, graphics and such (Currently).

But when it comes to no nonsense gaming you cant get better than a console.
The next gen consoler might (Probably will) surpass the PC in terms of graphics but they will get outdated eventually.

Move to South Korea. They do have the fastest internet service in the world. They get download speeds up to 100 MB/S. You'll never lag again.
