Introduced in the Sasuke Shinden novel, the Keryugan is a Doujutsu that casts powerful genjutsu and manipulates blood in the target's body. This is technically canon since Kishimoto authorized and supervises the content in the novels. Sasuke Shinden is confirmed to be adapted into anime.

As much as i enjoyed reading the novels... they aren't 100% canon unless Kishimoto implies they are. So... i guess at this point it can be called fillerugan... :pkun:

Kishi promoted the novels at the end of his manga didn't he?

Its part of the "Project New Era" he implemented. So its definitely canon.

Yes but he didn't exactly written it... Shin Towada was the one who wrote it. Kishimoto just illustrated it and supervised it. Still you can't say it's 100% canon and use it as a fact.

Well it is marketed as part of the official story.

Fillers don't receive this type of special treatment.

I think WSJ was the one who listed that timeline, not kishi. It could be him too, but who knows? The novels could even have their own separate, continuity. The only thing that would convince people that it isn't non canon, is if kishi or the new author confirms it or mentions novel events in the new manga.
