Just that title alone will get me hate so I guess I need to throw in this MY OPINION

Anyhow I'm on lunch break so I have to be quick lol

Why show boruto training when we can just give him crazy abilities without explanation? That must be the thought process the writers have.

OK now I can overlook that a bit. After all, he is a genius and characters like him and assume weren't shown doing a ton of training.makes sense kind of

Now what I can't get behind is borutos emotional maturity.look at naruto. All this anger and struggle held him back and affected his fighting style. Part 1 you have naruto screaming at enemies and using rush tactics without thinking

Now remember back to the pain arc. Naruto faced countless enemies and learned why they made the choices they did and perfected his tnj

It took naruto years of emotional growth before he could spare nagato and then you have a similar situation with ao and boruto spares him

So the writers are making boruto this Gary Stu with crazy universe shattering potential and they cut away a great opportunity to show actual emotional growth

Sorry I'm not trying to offend anyone I just think boruto isn't a fraction of what naruto was in terms of development

Naruto has empathy
Boruto shows sympathy

Naruto understood people's pain as he went through the same thing.

Boruto may be cocky but he does have an understanding of other people's situations(not there pain). This was learned when Naruto and Sasuke talked to him about his father's actions and responsibilities as Hokage.

I think his emotional growth is coming, and in a big way. I believe indra made a thread once about the boruto intro and how borutos back
Is to the destroyed village and he just looks... sad as f ck. I think maybe borutos actions cause what’s coming, or have something to do with it, or just him himself. If that’s the case I can accept his kinda “Gary stu ness” at the moment

Boruto wont be Gary Stu. He does have development. I always said he had Naruto before coming Hokage. Reason he know a lot.

Naruto anger only effected his fighting style due to Kurama using NES.

Naruto fighting style was based around his fox theme (kitsune/prankster) and unorthodox thinking in the heat of battle.

Boruto formulates planning with his gut feelings. He’s more arrogant (in the sene that he wants to show you up) than his father and because of that he’s more aggressive, disregarding planning and strategy from others in favor of his own.

This is further expressed when Boruto used the screwdriver as the weapon to kill Ao. The same weapon he was threatened with on the train.

Boruto isn’t a Gary Stu. You obviously don’t know what a Gary Stu is if you think Boruto is one.

Think ichigo from bleach, he’s pretty much infallible. When he wins he wins, when he loses he wins.
