Try Lupin III. It's a classic amongst classics, and it's my favorite anime ever. Also try Yu Yu Hakusho and The Big O.

to futher add to Zach Bell, i recommend you juts read the manga then if u want watch the anime, unfortunately the anime ends COMPLETELY differnt to the manga and the manga is such a better story line. and it continues when the anime stops (i assume it lost its funding)

Nice. Did you watch Lupin III part I and II? Few people know it, but what most people watch as Lupin III is actually the second series. The first only had one season and had a different director for most of the episodes. It's very different stylistically, but it's still good. You can check out this review on it:

I want to watch an anime that's sorta like FMA:brotherhood or samurai champloo. i like the story in FMAB because if you watch an episode it always ends with a cliffhanger making it impossible for me to stop watching lol. i like samurai champloo art and characters.

Battle angle is my all time favorite and highly recommended! Not sure why more people don't love this. Start from beginning not last order. Sci-fi android greatness!!
Recently have been reading shin Angyo onshi which I find entertaining and good but not amazing.
Really liked the story in the manga Eden.
kurozuka was worth while as a manga but terrible as an anime. Vampires time travel, good story and art.
kurohime is fun if you like shallow big tit sexiness with good art and half interesting story line.
Blade of the immortal for historical samurai shit with great art, story, and character development.
Did i mention Battle angel alita?
Those are the best off the top of my head.

As for anime I got such a kick out of golden boy! Really good.
Read or die three part OVA, not the tv show, is one of my all time favorites!!!
Blood last vampire the movie but we've all seen that, right?
Hmmm, can't think of many other great animes at the moment.
