I don't see a hype here. Gaara is one hell of poweful and if he wouldn't be weak against Raiton he'd be the strongest Kage, indeed.

Sorry, I really don't see Deidara's disadvantage being greater then Gaara's. Yes, he was running low on clay, but Gaara was limited to what he could do since he was practically fighting in his own village, without causing any kind of real disturbance to it's villagers. If anything I would say they were both at a disadvantage, but nonetheless, Deidara won and no one should take that from him.
Overpowering somebody = Intelligence?
When has Gaara done something that people admire or comment on his intelligence? Has he invented a secret forbidden Jutsu? has he outsmarted anybody in combat?
Deidara who isn't that Intelligent has outsmarted Gaara in a fight. Gaara doesn't outsmart his opponent, he overpowers them. Even Naruto has shown more "outsmarting an opponent" Than Gaara has xd
Nope, I made a thread about an occurance of a character hype without any relevant back up based on the manga from the large amount of posts responsible for the hype.
Mizukage giving him information and Gaara failing to utilizie it = outsmarting?
nice logic, not :flaw: Gaara didn't display any outsmarting in that fight, sorry, pure overpowering like Nagato overpowering everyone in Konoha.

Both were at a disadvantage. In gaara's case he had to protect the village.
In deidora's case, he was fighting gaara in his ideal location (desert), he had limited clay, he couldnt use his most strongest technique and finally its easier to kill than to capture.
Clearly he was at a greater disadvantage

Read em' and wheep, stop coming up with your own shit and read the manga. He defeated the Second Mizukage, and he did it by using his brain. There's not many other ninjas that would have come up with such a strategy in that short amount of time, and still managed to save all those ninja. I'm not overrating Gaara, I'm simply giving credit where credit is due.
Mizukage was helping everybody at the start, giving information, after Gaara was overpowering him he stopped giving information. Onooki helped Gaara. Sensor type shinobi helped Gaara. Sealing and Kuna throwing Shinobi helped Gaara.
Gaara didn't outsmart his opponent, he had to experience his abilities 2 times before he could come up with a tactic and his tactic wasn't about outsmarting his opponent, just overpowering him with his lame sand control.
