Also, this is what happens when a writer writes up a villain that is too powerful and doesn't have the balls to commit to letting them flaunt that power and start killing everyone. When you write somebody that strong, you let them win and force them to lose and the heroes to win in another, less direct way - you don't replace them haphazardly and then kill them off like that. At least we did get to see Gai almost kill him.

...Speaking of, where the Hell IS Gai? Is he still dying? I mean yeah, Naruto healed him, but...

I think we got plenty of examples of madara fighting at full power, they're just spread out throughout the manga. We have examples of him using rinnegan techs, hashi's techs, genjutsu, his katon and PS.
