So apparently internet providers are going to attempt to give warnings out to people that download stuff illegally. I don't really see this working out very well.

Lol

They should just ask google to drop illegal hosting sites off their serch engines or their own for that matter.
But seeing how they have not tried that i can only assume they can't.
Not to mention i highly doubt google would hide such highly search searched links that generate them profit.
In short expect nothing to change.
I suspect this "please don't download illegal" approach is just there way of saying "Well, i tried" Without actually doing anything

I don't know why they would even bother. There is always going to be a way to get around that kind of stuff.

yea, but it is most likely only going to affect the people that have no idea what they are doing when they download

It's amusing, to me, how much money they waste in their attempts to curtail the sharing of copyrighted content when several studies have shown that illegal downloads do not represent sales lost. In the vast majority of cases, the purchase would not have been made. Other studies have shown that an individual downloading music 'illegally' is also far more likely than the average person to make a purchase of an album or game. People are more apt to purchase what they find they enjoy.

Then, you have places like China, that do stuff like this:

You must be registered for see images

.... And they are given trade concessions.

*sigh* Just can't win for losing.

I would never thought that I would say that but... I regret downloading all games/movies from piratbay... and programs ofc.

100% legit since 2012

if you like something buy it:
You must be registered for see images
thanks to piracy everything is done so f*** complicated ...

It might sound funny or absolutely bizzare.. but downloading pirate files is illegal and our actions online/real life - are the same - it's stealing :p

in 2012 game called Kingdoms of Amalure went bankrupt because of planed 2mil sellary they only got 1,5... I'm pretty sure that those ''pirate'' versions we're more than enough to save them from failing. Not only it kills gaming industry but it slows down it's progress

the only thing that i ever do, that would be considered piracy is stream anime/tv shows and read some scanned manga(if that even counts). I've always been a console player so pirating games has never been tempting for me. and ever since i got spotify i have no reason to download songs

it's going to work....not only do they warn you but they make you pay a fee if you still do it after the warning.at least in New York.
