We are a few weeks away (dec14) from the FCC meeting to try repeal net neutrality. This isnt just bad for our average internet browsing, gaming, and socializing but its going to be really really bad for smaller businesses to operate and compete against big markets online because those big companies will pay for express speed for their sites while the smaller online businesses are run down and out of business with throttled speeds and inability to provide fair and equal service to customers. if trump's admin. repeals nn we can kiss goodbye to equal internet traffic speeds and sit back and take whatever ISPs want us to be able to access and see with good speed and what they dont like will be treated with terrible internet service. this IS a fascist agenda. but we can stop it.

call state reps it literally only takes few min they r there to represent YOUR voice and also petition and let congress know we wont take this bs

if youre not sure what nn is or how important it is pls watch

But wait, WHO put trump in the office?

Okay, so we shall reap what we sow.We shall suffer, for what the majority of our country has done.Welcome to democracy.

I'm sick of it.

1. Like 50% of the population did not vote(doesn't matter but not the everyone voted)
2. Trump lost the popular vote
3. US doesn't not have a true democracy, they have a democratic republic

Abolishing Net neutrality is a step towards a more competitive and self-governing internet, no? Why does the government have to stick their sweaty paws in how companies run their businesses. President Donald is doing what's inherently American in spirit and mind.
What you're afraid of is not the abolishing of the act, but how the online market would react to it. I say good to this and all the power to Ajit the man Pie.

Gossip

Regardless, he won. He got put in office.

he didnt win majority. that isnt gossip its a fact that hillary won the popular vote. this has nothing to do with saving net neutrality, so why off topic??? or are you for ISPs dictating what we should browse?

Self-governing internet sounds like a great idea on paper. But that just cannot exist in US because of the duopoly and monopoly the ISP companies have all over the US, the only way US can not have NN and not be fuucked by ISPs is if they somehow get ISPs to get rid of the exclusivity contracts they have. Government needs to stick there head in to keep ISPs in check so they don't throttle competition. Because ISP saying "We promise we won't do it" is no where NEAR good enough for me. Verizon has a history of throttling Netflix FFS And no this isn't American in spirit or mind because this benefits ISP and people that are shareholders in ISP companies....PERIOD
Not to even get started on "Ajit the man pie" who btw was a lawyer for guess who.....just guess.....
FUUCKING Verizon....lol I cannot make this up...One of the reason why Net Neutrality was switched to Title 2 was because Verizon had successfully FCC back in 2011 lol

so please educate yourself before you spew such nonsense

Gossip

Not gossip, facts....
and never said that he didn't win now did I? As I said he won because US is not a true democracy, it is a Democratic Republic hence why he lost the popular vote but still won the election.

Another fact about this repeal is that the FCC won't even let states decide their own Net Neutrality laws. It will all be up to the ISP providers. Comcast already took down their promise of not taking advantage of fast lanes from their website once the repeal was in motion. It's already a clear indication of what to expect and there is no reason for these ISPs to make any decisions that doesn't include maximizing profit.

The real question is what will people be ready to do if the repeal succeeds or will everyone just accept it, even though it will likely impact all of our society, from jobs, to personal use, to even education? At this stage, internet is considered a utility but is going to be regulated as a luxury by the ISPs.

People like to avoid the discussion of Fascism within our society, but we are honestly headed in that direction. It creeps up slowly and before you know it, we're at its doorstep. We're already living in an Orwellian government. For goodness sake, this repeal is titled "Restoring Internet Freedom." That's as Orwellian as you can get.

So popular vote dont mean winning in the usa you just have to get the major states and a few fly over states but hilary didnt campain in those areas so she deserved her loss

Trump didnt lose the popular vote, as revealed the poles advertised via CNN and other fake news outlets were faked to give inaccurate progress on the election. Trump won because the majority of america wanted him president instead of someone that just keeps lying to the people and just blames someone else (bs russian excuses after a few month emotional break down) for their failures.

Well this repeal is for the U.S. so it's hard to say how it will affect the rest of the world.

But it's surely to affect jobs and trade that utilize the internet as part of its utility.

Ahhhhh so anything that doesn't support your agenda is lügenpresse oh my bad that's what hitler said, it is "fake news" here....again Trump didn't win because of popular vote, he won because of electoral college....

A lot of big internet companies are based out of US so if for example lets say Verizon starts throttling Netflix again and starts demanding money then MAYBE Netflix might have to raise their membership prices so maybe in that way it will effect rest of the world.

Well, this would be fuked up. I have a subscription at Netflix. Currently, the price for subscription is 11.99 and they plan soon to rise the price $2. If it goes above $13.99, I'll say goodbye to Netflix. Even Crunchyroll might do that too.
