Nen and chakra

So i watched hunterxhunter anime not too long ago and could not help but notice the similarities between it and naruto specifically the hunter exam and chunin exam. I think its clear that the hunter I am influenced the mangaka but upon investigating this similarities i heard people say that chakra was inspired by nen but naruto came out a year after hunterxhunter and introduces chakra and its properties almost immediately while nen is introduced relatively late in the series. So i suppose my question is does nen even predate chakra? i cant seem to get my answer

It seems Nen came first.

Chakra was introduced in Naruto in chapter 18. Chapter 18 was released 02/21/2000 according to

Nen is more complex than chakra but unlike chakra Nen has clear explanation on its working mechanism and concept. In Naruto we were yet to know clearly what exactly is Six Path chakra?

The list goes on and on. But people will never admit to that Kishi kinda ripped off HxH. It's not the first time Togashi's work been taken as an "influence".
