Think about it, Neji made resolve after the fight with Kidomaru, if he had died it would've been more impactful then rather die as a fodder without giving any screen time and build up during part 2....

the only ppl that would care is Neji fans/Hyuga fans in general tbh. I can't think of a way where it would impact the plot in the least since the major point of emphasis during that time was retrieving Sasuke. Naruto didn't need any more motivation to do that since it was already something he was bent on doing.

I know but it's still better then killing off for pairing device cause atleast he was relevant and had his own development. K12 were the spark back in part 1, now in part 2 they are neglected except for team shikamaru
