Dying like a dog? He gave his life willingly to save his friends... If I could choose a way to go, I would want to die like that.

Only one thing wrong with that, Neji died with honor and people who loved him surrounding him, so no, that doesn't refer to him.

That could have something to do with it (foreshadowing probably?) but to have been on par with Naruto and Sasuke basically before that moment (to our knowledge at least, he hasn't been shown though in quite a few chapters) his death was shitty, quick, and should have been Hinata. Not that i want her to die, or think she should, but the way it was going...it would have been much more honorable if it was Hinata. I say this (before i get bashed) mainly because if Neji said what he said and died giving the msg to Naruto about giving his life basically for Hinata and the hope he will end up with her....then Naruto turns around and calls Sakura his gf? That was a hard punch in the face for Neji. Now, i don't really think Neji was referring to Hinata and Naruto hooking up when he made his statement while dying, but was trying to make a more important lesson known...but many think this is foreshadowing NH so im just saying to me those whole 15-16 chapters was shitty.

I think Neji told Naruto to take care of Hinata since he would no longer be able to and his soul would rest knowing she was safe. I agree it had noting to do with anything romantic, Neji wanted to make sure Hinata was taken care of and he knew how she felt about Naruto, so he wanted it to be someone she trusted and admired.

Naruto telling Minato Sakura was his girlfriend was not a punch to the face because there was no romantic implication in that scene with Neji's death.
